Default 67 skylark dash and interior paint

Somebody told me I can just use a satin black rattle can to paint the dash and various metal surfaces inside the cabin.

Is that the best choice, or ???

    Thanks

SEM Color Coat Landau black 15013 for the plastic, vinyl and carpets.. You must prep the area clean! Wipe down with rubbing alcohol to rid oils etc.. Wipe down afterwards with a tack cloth and then use the SEM Color Coat rattle can paint.. start with the first coat lightly followed with a 2nd and poss 3rd.. Great stuff and easy to use..

I think there is an adhesive you spray on before the color that is sold by Duplicor or Krylon. It's supposed to help the paint stick to plastic parts.

All my '66's originally had gloss paint on the metal surfaces. It was lacquer and not buffed out so it's not 100% gloss, more like a 90% gloss.
I've had great results with gloss black lacquer spray cans.
Satin black would be incorrect if you want an original looking finish.

Not the soft surfaces. I am referring to the black metal surfaces. Front of dash, up top where the defrost vents are and the pillars on front and rear windows. Even the metal on top of door and quarter windows that isn't covered by stuff.
I can spray it with a gun if rattle can isn't available but just want to know the name or type of soft finish or satin or what it is called

    Thanks

The strip between the windshield and dash pad is flat black, possibly a textured paint, like a fine pebble-grain.
Lower dash (glovebox level) 'A' pillars and door sills are 'slightly' flattened black, but I'd still call it gloss paint.
Quoting from a 1966 Dupont color chip chart:
"Unpolished LUCITE (lacquer) will generally produce a gloss comparable to original interior semi-gloss finishes".

Awesome info, so if I go into ye ole' paint shop and buy a quart of black lacquer to paint my interior and just spray it and leave it alone I should be fine? Does lacquer need a clear coat on top?
    Thanks

Lacquer doesn't need a clear coat.
It should have near to correct gloss (a bit dull) after it dries. You can buff and wax it if you want more gloss.
BTW, the black paint applied to the chrome dash I would call a semi-gloss. Much less shine that on the other surfaces.
