Default 1965 nailhead green engine paint

Hello... Im looking for the correct Green Paint for my 1965 Buick 401 Nailhead engine. Can anyone lead me in the right direction? I was hoping to find the paint in spray cans so if you anybody knows of a Vendor that sells the Correct Green colored 1965 401 Nailhead paint then I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks very much, Lightweights4me in Pennsylvania

Carmen Faso sells something that he re-labels, but it works pretty well and looks good. I think it's pretty close to the correct shade. He's not on the web and doesnt take credit cards but is still a great guy to know, call him at 716-693-4090

This picture is pretty close to what it looks like in real life...

automotivetouchup.com sells 12 0z cans of spraypaint starting from about 20 bucks still i think, only thing i can recall is you still need to clearcoat it for the metallics to pop.

just checked and assuming its the turqoise mist they have listed for 65 buicks its in stock.would make sure its heat rated accordingly first though never used their products for blocks, only panels.
originally heard of them years ago when buddy tapped them for a 1970s caddy color called commodore blue he decided on for a willies overland, wish i had pics of that one(they didnt put cameras in phones at the time),was a hell of a machine.especially the built 400 4 bolt main with the holley street avenger carb.
well hope it helps and is what you need, have a good one.

Detroit diesel green looks just like the pictures of Carmen's paint and it's readily available at most auto parts stores in high temp version.

Never been more impressed with a product than the one i used the other night .I painted this outside 50 degrees out of a cheap HF touch up gun out of the can no thining or you can brush as i did with the left over paint in the can and it smoothed right out.it is like an engine paint with the qualities of por15 .Made by KBS .Im using there products for my entire restore http://www.kbs-coatings.com/trunk-an...r-kit.html.The product is called motor coater. http://www.kbs-coatings.com/motor-coater.html .I used por 15 on my last restore and a matter a fact Im redoing the engine and bought a pint of this for my pontiac.About 20 bucks at the swap meet

Yes, very GOOD! And ONAN generator green is a very good match and can be bought in spray cans from Onan/ Cummins. I tested an area on a '65 401 with the Onan paint and it matched perfectly. Many of these other Buick greens are far too light. But correct for early nailheads.

    I think we need a paint spray-off

Compare the high $$ "specialty" paints to off the shelf parts store paints. I'm willing to bet we find that some are just re-labeled parts store paint.
