    Default 350 head porting

It was suggested that I send a set of heads to Gessler but I called him but he said he no longer does the Buick heads. Does anyone feel comfortable suggesting an alternative? While I'm at it. Does anyone have a set of bare 68-72 heads they could possibly part with? I need a good bare block too.

Ok now you made me want to start porting my 68 350 heads. But I got a question. Should I use a stock metal intake gasket to make my opening lines or where do I buy some composite gaskets for the 350?

yes mike at AMP would be a good phone call . although i have not had him machine anything for me i have purchased a few items from him and discussed several things with him . both on the phone and in person . and always good reviews from v8buick members as far as i know .
his entry's into the engine masters always seem to pull good numbers without exotic work and parts .
and the last info on greg's shop that i saw was no more stocking parts but would be doing head work . maybe not ? too bad .

Maybe I missed something (but if it came from him then it must be true) I thought Gessler was just getting out of selling parts, but would still port heads?
Well, now I'm glad I have an extra set of heads to practice on.

My nephew, Jordan Betts is doing the next 2 generation 455 heads. We are almost done with the exhaust and then to the digitizer, then the 600cfm canted valve heads, then some 350 heads with Mike's blessing. I don't want to duplicate anything he is doing. I also have a 70 350 motor and 73 350 motor. Maybe 150.00 ea. Jordan will probably do anyone's heads as soon as the 455's are done. He will not touch any other heads while he is working on mine, so please don't ask. If anyone has some 350 scrap heads we can cut up that is close to us send me a PM. Thanks, ken betts

I am not surprised if Greg is not porting heads anymore If you don't have a CNC program or have a lot of hand work it is very time consuming, and have you tried to hold a grinder all day long. None of us are getting younger. (NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE) We are going to have to depend on the trained younger guys and watch them have fun. lol

TA performance has what you are asking about. Yes! You should use the composite gaskets from TA to port to.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that Gessler is not porting Buick heads anymore. I would toss out that idea unless someone can confirm that!
