    Default Power steer flush

I'm about to fit a new steering box, and want to flush the system while I've got the hoses off the box. Research suggests that having the hoses off and pouring fluid into the pump until it runs clean will be OK.
Any other suggestions? Solvent/degreaser, or perhaps the stuff I used to flush the auto cooler lines?

    Thanks for all replies.

I've done a several and generally just drain as much as I can, fill the reservoir with clean fluid, leave the return line in a bucket and wait until it is clear. Unless you have a small leak, I would not put anything else in there. I did take one old pump apart and reseal it while I was draining the fluid. There is a magnet in there that could stand to be cleaned off as well.

They make filters but if it is that bad, I'd replace whatever is the problem instead.
