Exclamation hi-out put 1 wire delco alternators w/pics

105 amp $145.00 + shipping of $15 usps flatrate box.140 amp $165.00 + shipping.chrome units are available, will ship elsewhere for additional shipping.i can supply any pulley you want,v-belt single is standardthe stator on this one is red per costomer request.can paint any color,or leave natural(steel w/varnish).i use aluminum heatsink rectifiers w/70 amp avalanche diodes that are welded, not soldered.all these are built from scratch with new NOT REBUILT parts by me.the rear housing has raised fins to cool the rectifier better than the stock design.rotor has internal cooling fins as well as the exterior fan.i would recomend to upgrade the wiring to at least 6 gauge at the back of the alternator on the 140a unit.any questions send a pm,e-mail or post here.

Hey, just wanted to report that I got the 105 amp one wire alternator that Jamie built for me, arrived just fine and looks great. Well, looks just like the pics he posted, and I think it looks great. I may have to put it on my beater Riv for a while, since the one I'm working on (that I bought the alternator for) looks to have an ETIC (Estimated Time In Commission) of about two years. Oh well. Just wanted to say thanks Jamie.

    Howdy,

How much would a 105Amp either external or 3-wire internal regulated Alternator for a 64 Nailhead be? I have the dual groove pulley so you could ship with a single or no pulley if it reduces price.

    Thumbs up

    Hi Jamie
I'm finally ready to take the plunge
    But I don't know what I want/need?

I know what I DON'T want though.... I don't want to have to rev my engine to 2500 RPMs to turn on the alternator anymore! That's getting old fast.

I've attached a pic of my current alternator, and how it's wired.
That's just a big hot wire straight from the battery, with a little jumper over to the #2 terminal.

I don't think I need a monster output deal or anything.... just a good "one wire?" alternator with a one v-belt pulley. No chrome, no fancy paint, no bling.
Function before beauty under this hood.

With all that said.... you're the alternator master. I'm hoping for suggestions.
    You still take paypal right?

    Thanks

PS.... did you ever find a replacement for your "part thingy"?

At this point I will have a "small amp" for my stereo soon, and I'm still running a mechanical fan.
Having the option of going to an electric fan in the future would be nice though.
Any problem with using an alternator strong enough for an electric fan even though I'm using a mechanical fan? I don't want to burn up my battery.
Used housing is fine as long as it's not a greaseball.

Regarding your air cleaner..... just don't forget I owe you. I want to make it right with you when the time comes.

I'll send paypal in a few minutes.

Talking Can you do a VW?

    Jamie,

Well, I forgot about this post and posted over in your ministarter post...oops!

Anyhow, I asked over there if you could make a high ouput internally regulated alternator for a 77 VW Transporter.

The one you made for me a few months back for the Buick works great and I'd like a repeat of the simplicity on the VW (cos I hate German engineering!)

Let me know as soon as you can as the wife and I are planning to road trip to Florida in a few weeks and would really like to take the VW.

I really like these, so likely when i get my ministarter from you a nice alternator will come right along side!

I would like a one wire internally regulated, with the idiot light post or however it is that the idiot light would still function.

So what amps would you recommend for a car running all power options (windows, seats, stereo (not too excessive), as well as electric fans, electric fuel pump, electric water pump, and MSD ignition?

Would high amperes be bad for an ammeter gauge with a -60 to +60 range?

It is for a buick 430.

dont start building it yet just in case plans change

no 1 wire if you want the idiot light function but i can send the adapter plugs to make it a simple plug & play operation.that way if you want to go back to stock for shows & such, you still have the undamaged harness.you need a higher amp alternator with all your add-ons.what kind of rpm are you NORMALY driving at?your present amp meter should be upgraded with a higher out-put unit.

Well, normal rpm would probably end up being around 3500 rpm most of the time.

I havent read this thread for awhile, is there a multiple wire unit that works with the idiot light and is still internally regulated?

    Ill take a recommendation:

    Want the idiot light
Dont want the regulator or any of its wires on my fender.
    Want whatever amps you recommend.

with the water pump & fans 105amp should cover you,or the 140 if you plan on anymore of a load(stereo) the conversion harness plugs into the reg plug, just tuck it into the fender, remove the reg, plug conversion harness #2 between the alternator & your existing alt plug.i think i have a harness kit on the shelf, ill take a real pic in the morning & post it

Well, my wiring to the reg is butchered and is what i was trying to avoid keeping.

Ill ask this but go back and re-read the thread for the answer:

what do i do to keep the idiot light with an internally regulated alternator?

ill probably go 140, i dont think old cars were made for big stereos (thats what my gas-mileage car is for, soon to have 6k watts and 5 12's with 6 speakers making highs)

this buick only has an alipne deck and 4 speakers, but with the MSD and 2-step and linelocks and everything else (but LED lights, not sure thats much less draw though), better safe than sorry (good thing i didnt order that 70 amp i was planning on running!)

    thanks
