Default I-Phone VBox Application for your car

No, this is not a joke, they have developed a V-box like application for your I-phone.
From the article I saw, this would be available on I-tunes. Can you imagine tuning using this type of application ?

We knew the Apple iPhone would allow for some really great automotive applications. Our pal Marty Padgett at The Car Connection even rounded up the best of the apps a few weeks ago, which we republished here . But what we were hoping for was something that completely leveraged the iPhone’s accelerometers to effectively create a VBox , just cheaper and smaller.

It seems that application has arrived. View the incredible Dynolicious, a $12.99 automotive app for your iPhone. Using the phone’s built-in accelerometers, the app samples data “as many as one hundred times per second.” It creates a tiny automotive genius in your pocket—good to measuring the performance of whatever vehicle you’re in (we suppose it would work for running, too). It can measure things such as:

0-60 MPH
Other Speed Tests (0-10 MPH through 0-100 MPH in 10MPH increments)
Quarter Mile Elapsed Time
Quarter Mile Trap Speed
Elapsed Time and Trap Speed for standard intervals (60', 330', 1/8 Mi, 1000')
Lateral G's (current and peak)
Braking G's (current and peak)
Wheel Horsepower
Estimated Engine Horsepower
When you’re done recording your run, the Dynolicous app will show you your results with a speedometer and graphs, a skidpad display, and also against saved information in the unit. Change settings on your car and compare the times in different saved settings. We can’t wait to download this and put it to use in some of our cars.

I just got an iPhone so let me know how it works.

I have the cheap $30 G-Tech but wanted to get the moe expensive one later. If this app works, I'll use it instead.

Let me know how that works. I have read a lot of good reviews on it so far.

The articles say it works on the iPod touch as well.

So, I played with mine last night in my normal truck that I drive and it is an amazing application. 0 -60 times and quarter mile times no matter where you start or stop. 1/4 mile times on the freeway are meaningless but fun to mess with.

Also g forces laterally which my truck didn't do well in till I put 4 80 lb bags of concrete in it.

Well worth the 13 bucks if you have I phone or I touch and like to play with cars.

Here is a link where you can see screen shots etc.
