Default '65 GS Backhalfed with a Special 4door

Thought you all would like this. We have a '65 GS 4-speed that was a little "worked over" So, we took a clean '65 Special 4door and bred the two. the result is a solid '65 GS!!!

Looks that way....lower quarters and trunk. see the 4 dr donor part in the top row on the right....
The rear panel from the GS looks like it was saved.
Nice Job!

But what was used the the front lower half of the quarter?....one of the door panels?

Well, we used the trunk floor, drop offs, lower quarters and partial wheel houses from the special. Welded the entire unit into the GS. We then used the rear door skins from the Special for the front half of the quarters. Worked out well. It is a lot of work But now there isn't that full inch of fill in the quarters like there was.

You know it sucks that it's come down to sacrificing a whole car just to get quaters.

Nice job Sean.

That's cool, I'm also blending one of each (just not a GS) right now to bring mine back to life. When I'm done I'll post a link to the pics. It's not ready for that yet.

A little off topic but I have a question. Can I be a Masshole if I was born in Fall River and raised in Somerset even though I now live in Washington?

Is that a tag you really want Greg??

I'm thinking not.

But you might just be one.

Awesome. It's funny that we're doing something similar at the same time but you're much farther along than I am.

I'll post pics later but I found out the floorpan and rocker panels are identical so I'm combining the two into one rust-free car.

I still have four solid, rust-free doors for a 4dr if anyone needs them. I would trade them for a nice front bumper and grille.
