Sloan Documented 73 GS455 4spd for sale. I have decided to sell this Rare car, as I don't see when I will have the time to finish it anytime soon. It's paid for,and it has storage, so thats not an issue. This car sold new in Missouri, and moved later in life to Delaware. It was a very solid car to start with. It was stripped to bare metal, had an NOS driver quarter installed,NOS decklid, and NOS radiator support. It was painted with Base/clear in the original Silver Cloud.Fresh out of the booth, will need a little wet sanding and buffing here and there once it's assembled. The car currently has a rebuilt 70 455 sitting in place, and it comes with the matching #'s engine as well. It has the Munice 4 spd, and 3.42 posi with sway bars, etc. It's an A.C. car with pwr disc brakes, pwr steering, bench seat with arm rest, sport mirrors, side moldings, and bumper guards. There was a very nice low mile century parted out that donated very nice bumpers, weather stripping, belt moldings, etc. There are duplicates of alot of trim parts to pick from. The hard part of the project is done, just needs assembly. Blue book places the car between $16-18k finished, and I think thats pretty realistic, and I don't see having more than half that into it running and driving. It will make someone a really neat unique car when finished. $8500 o.b.o. Car is at my house in Three Rivers,Mi 49093 I can help set up reasonable shipping for about a week, after that the enclosed trailer is sold. 269-496-7072 7a.m.-3p.m. 269-279-7476 after 5p.m.
Is the car in running condition or does is need mechanicals done? Are you interested in a trade or just straight out? Thanks Tony
I'm intrigued because it is different, and a 4 speed car. You have turned out some nice cars in the past Tom which doesn't hurt. I am probably in the same boat as far as I need to make something disappear before I dive into another project. My Lesabre drop is pretty close to being done, and I don't think it is staying, so I will keep in touch. Thanks for the reply. Tony
Tom Did you determine exactly how many GS 455 4 speed cars were built in 73? Eric has calculated 92 Stage 1 cars were built is this car one of 30-40 ? Beyond that nice car and very unique!
**********************S*O*L*D ***********************:TU: Rich, not sure how many were built for sure, but it is definately a rare piece. It's the ONLY standard 455 4 speed that I can remember seeing for sale:Brow:
It's going to New York to a guy that had a 73 GS new, and has been looking for a suitable replacement for years. I think he's found a good one, plus he's moving up to a 455 4 speed from the 350 that he had.
Yeah, I'm glad it's going to someone who will appreciate it's rarity and it's uniqueness. I'm bummed that I had to sell the car, probably the rarest car I've ever owned, but with my 2 children, I just came to the realization that I simply don't have the time that I did in the past to put into these cars. Come to think of it, I don't know that I have the ambition anymore eithero No: I've been pumping them out at a fairly steady pace over the last few years, I think I might take a break for a while.
Tom Glad to hear you sold the 73. Are you still coming to PSD's this fall with the 69 Bird? I am maybe bringing my 70 GS Stage 1 conv to beat on. Rich
Wow! Nice job Tim:TU: That look's great. Did you end up buying seat cover's through PUI? The interior look's really nice. Is it running/driving?
Tom, Yes PUI seat cover. We are waiting on a BB fan shroud, just got the exhaust (2.5") on last weekend. We kept the 70 motor in it cause we were missing the 73 heads and intake. Stageone - Whats the blue car come with? All the parts there?
Re: 1973 Gran Sport 455 4speed - Update Great looking Car!! I a am partial to 73's ya know:TU: :TU: If you have any extra parts around or want to BS just PM me. I think we can, maybe find a fan shroud for you!
I have a decent 455 fan shroud I put in my car and realized its not right for a 350. It would need a good cleaning and resto but its solid... You guys want to do me a huge favor??? I am getting a new shifter boot for my car and need a good close up shot of the boot install, as well as a few helpful hints on doing it. I have new carpet to install and really don't want to screw it up.
