Im going to the GS nationals this year in Bowling Green. Do you have to be a member to race? If so, can you join and pay the fees there or do you have to do it in advance?
Yes you have pay a "membership fee" to participate. That also gets you a newsletter. You can do it in advance (usually a discount before a date) or pay at the event a la cart'. ElectraJim
Do you have to have a GS or GN to join? I was told by a couple a while back that they didn't let just regular Buicks join.
Totally bogus information. There is no screening or requirement to become a GSCA member. Anybody with a checkbook and or cash can join. You MUST have a BUICK powered car to compete at the GS Nationals however. ElectraJim
I would suggest joining before sending entry fees if planning on racing or showing, paying at the gate is more expensive. The discount registration deadline is March 15th. If planning on being a spectator for just a day or two, then just buy tickets at the gate. Finding a gcsa chapter near you is a benifit too, usually the chapter members all room at the same hotel or motel giving you a bunch of friends to hang with away from the track. That is a big part of the fun of BG, seeing old friends year after year. The Indiana Chapter stays at the News Inn as always. Cars must be Buick powered. :TU: http://www.gsnationals.com/ http://www.gsnationals.com/EarlyRegForm08.pdf

You don't have to be a member but there's a $30 fee for non members on top of the $30 fee to buy a $30 ticket. Holy Cow it's a $103 to take your car and wife to the show!
I was going to drive my Lark and trailer the Riv but with the cost of gas and entrance fees to bring both I pretty sure I'll just trailer the Riv.
