I bought mine from Year One and quickly realized the horn cap is assembled 180 degrees off...

That being said, does the flange on the horn cap fit inside or outside the prongs on the steering wheel.

I bent mine a little before I realized it was assembled wrong.

You can install that cap any direction you want.

The way I see it you have two options-

1- send back the horn cap to TPP. But I bet you that they have a batch of them the same way. There's a chance they'll just send you the same defective one back.

2- You can drill out the three rivets on the back, adjust it the way it should be and re- rivet the assembly back together. Ive done this countless times on the originals. I buy oddball colored horn caps, take them apart, dye them black and put them up on Ebay. The black ones sell better! They're regular aluminum blind pop rivets you can buy at any hardware store. You just need a pop rivet gun to install them

Thanks Jason... Year One is actually going to send another out. I sent them a pic of how it "should" look!

Am I wrong about being able to install the cap in any position? It's been a couple years since I had one...but I thought that was the case.:Dou:

I think there is some alignment between the two... Nothing like a little forcefull bending though... :(

Am I loosing all my marbles??????

With the steering wheel installed as in the 1st pic all I do is depress one of the three black segments and the horn works just fine.

When I install the new center cap from YO, inside the prongs, I get nothing. What am I missing???? :Dou:

    Thanks!
