If someone has one for the 455 buick please let me know. I have an AC bracket/bar on my car now and I don't want to cut it.
Are you talking about the upper arm that connects at the water pump and goes to the upper part of the alternator? You already have the correct part on you car if that is what you are talking about. All 455 cars used the same arm regardless if car had AC or not. The end hole was just not used on non AC cars. Do not cut it off or you will be given S#1# at shows. The part you are looking for does not exist.
Thanks for the info, I seen some cars with and without the extra hole. I need only the lower bracket now that I know the upper is universal.
I have the correct aluminum lower for a non-AC car. I tried to sell it here but no takers at $100 bucks so I just decided to keep it. They are very rare now. I will let it go for $50 plus $15 to ship. Don't really want to let it go for less. It is in real nice shape and just needs a very light bead blast. I think I also have both correct bolt that go with it. The long alternator bolt and the negative battery bolt with the star washer. Those are tough to find. They go with it. Let me know and I will see if I can locate bolts. I know where bracket is.
What condition is it in? Someone on this site tried selling one of those lower brackets recently with a weld repair to it.
Mine is near perfect. No welds. came out of a junkyard car about 12 years ago and has sat ever since. Check with the other guy for his condition as Jeff wants mine if you don't. If things work out you both can have one.
Dave , are you sure about that ? Must be a 455 thing. Here is an Original Non AC upper arm with no hole. DL
I just PM'ed txgwildcat about his bracket. Send me your info so I can send you a post office check on Monday if txgwildcat doesn't respond. I'm zip code 19020. [Philadelphia, Pa. area]
I just received info on txgwildcat about his lower non-AC 455 alt. bracket. He said it's in good shape with no welds and I'm sending him a check on Monday if I get his address by then. Thank you copperheadgs1 for the response and please give the next person in line for your bracket. ~~~~~~~~~~~Bob:TU:
DL that bracket has been cut and ground. What is the part number on it. It is down towards the bottom front. The assembly manual in 70 and 71 clearly states that arm is the same as used on AC jobs.
