Agreed. Way too much questionable stuff with this guy...and to foul-mouth respected members and friends....well that just proves the point.
@ Mark (TurboV6): still I think you should have at least inform JW at the time by PM about your troubles with this (former) board member (we're not talking about a few bucks here!!) It could have prevent some other bad deals here. Must say the only occasion I bought something from him was a smooth transaction.
Maybe I should have, hindsight is allways 20/20. I did keep track of his dealings, and only spoke up when it looked like he was going south with peoples money. It was then, that I decided to make public the dealings I had with him so as to raise awareness to his character. Time to move on
Course not Jim but that seems to be the bigger problem, anyone who has a problem with another member can't get traction for their problem as to many jump to defend. I know thats what V8 friends do but it helps those get away with stuff easier. I don't think anyone here would report a problem out of malice like on ebay. See this thread, http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=171353 now fastest430 post was deleted but is quoted still. Dunno how many thread he has jumped into trying to warn folks or to get his $60 but all anyone does is defend the sellers and give fastest430 flack for doing so. When it should be the other way around. Doesn't matter how great a guy he is, he can't be so great if folks would risk being banned to jump into every thread to warn folks. But all the defenders do is help folks not get their money back. "Originally Posted by fastest430 DANO won't pay me the $60.00 he ows me BAD to deal with!!!!" Id over step my bounds by saying those who wish to defend folks should do it with their wallet. Prove that so n so is a great guy and pay up for him, then see how great he is. We need a big overhaul of the selling system with a ratings mod and some official judges who can separate personal feelings and get it solved right.
Thank you Jim for removing rude, foul mouth, TIM. There's just never any call for that. You did him a favor and saved him from himself. (I'm always amazed how some folks work so hard at getting into trouble)
As do I. Cost me more than a few :dollar: :dollar: :dollar: :dollar: :dollar: But this isnt Buick Tim, just the before mentioned bad vendor
Just FYI, this issue was resolved, and fastest430 did get his money. He made a post in the Feedback forum. http://v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=172699 I don't think every negative transaction should be painted with the same brush. Certain circumstances may cause a hiccup in a transaction, most excusable, some not. That is also not to say that there aren't scammers out there, either. In my mind, the above referenced difficulty, and this debacle over Buick Tim were two different situations. Though both started out negatively, one ended reasonably and amicably, the other... well, obviously not. If you were a seller, and you had one hiccup with every intention of making things right, wouldn't you want the support of others with whom you've had good transactions? That's also not to say that flack for the buyer and support for the seller should be one and the same.
While I understand and support your decision, I kind of wish you had not canned him so soon. I for one, have not yet received my items which I paid for and it is possible that others have not either. I do not have a personal e-mail address for Tim so I have no way of following up with him on my items. I have faith that they will be sent, but that being said, it would have been nice to verify if everyone had received their goods before pulling the plug. Cheers
Randy, I was sensitive to that issue.. he said that he "sent everyone's parts" in a previous post. It's my opinion that if he came on here in public, in this thread, and said he sent everyone's stuff, but has not, then it's unlikely your going to see them at all, and letting him stay here further would do more harm to the community, than good. JW
HI Jim, Fair enough. I am keepng my fingers crossed for me and any other with items outstanding. Cheers
Hi Doc I received the 72 Top selector and color sample book and the 72 Facts Book 3 ring binder(Empty). I had requested the 72 Color Sample brochure and not the 3-ring binder, but in the grand scheme of things, it does not really matter. As long as it is for a 72 I am happy. If you have Tim's address you should (may) be able to obtain his phone number from the internet phone directory. Cheers
