For some reason the weather usually has been great for us on Saturday (with a few exceptions) and miserable for the Pontiac guys on Sunday. Maybe this proves that God owns a Buick!?!?
Randy; End of the world run is in September. Use to be Labor Day weekend, but all the anal businesses that don't know a cash cow when it craps money in their lap complained because of the traffic and all on a already busy weekend so they moved it to the weekend after. I hardly ever go to the show at that one any more because the parking and the size of the show are a pain in the a$$, although I have some friends that live across the fence from it. I do go down Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening for all the cars out and about and to see people that I only see once a year. If you send me a PM so that I remember, I'll look up the details of the show and send them to you. I have a bunch of friends in that club.
My husband went to that once when we first started going to shows, he doesnt want to go back down. it has became nothing but a party & a dunk fest. There is also a Show (free) at Corvette & High performance that same weekend in Olympia. great show, free & free food.
weather forcast is changing for a little cooler and cloudy but as of last night had 99 preregistered so it should be another great show
I have a friend in the Renton hilands i might vist.A drive?Remember i'm coming from NE WA to begin with.Renton to Puyallup is...30 min or 2 cups of coffee:laugh:
Everyone bring a jacket the weather forcast is not looking the best. But dont let that stop you from showing up cause it will be a great turn out no matter what it does. Besides Buick guys in the northwest arent afraid of a little scattered showers its not like they have that girly bowtie that would get wet and ruined.
dang! now they predict PM showers.. great. i was betting on no rain bc the car has no top ou: i know the Rivs always park under that long roofed portion, but does anyone think they would allow a lowly Skylark in there? it looks really pretty! ray: otherwise i will have to put a tarp over it whenever it rains which will look horrendous
my lowly skylark vert got 3rd place last year lol. if its raining as hard as it is now here I will not be there. but if hes sprinkles then I will be there. depends on how I feel when I get up to leave also.
Forecasts really don't look too bad. We might even get through the day with no precipitation, since it sounds like the most likely scenario is for some light rain north of Seattle and south of Olympia.
They should put the Rivs outside... Let the Cats n all outta the rain. Anyway, rain or shine I'll be there. Speaking of parking... are they gonna put all the Cats together this year? Sure would be nice. Last year I was with the Electras... I know I have an aircraftcarrier.. but sheeesshhhhh...
I've been to a couple wet shows so far this year, and you were at one of them so I didn't figure that a little rain would stop you this time. Don't forget your cell phone at home though.
Ya they need to put the Cats under some cover! You all know what happens when they get wet!  Especially mine, I have no back window in it!! Almost got the rust repairs completed, but with work haven't had a lot of time. Still gonna make it out.
Yeah a little rain won't stop the SGM... Dave that was brutal about the cell phone... can I claim old age on that one?? :Brow:
Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do. The car's been a little under powered and running a little off for a little while, but the points are old, so it's to be expected. I put a Pertronix ignitor 2 in last night, and the power is better, but it's still not running good. With the points it wanted to run at about 10 advanced instead of the 2 1/2 that it should be. I've now got it at about 7 1/2 and it doesn't want to run with any less. I took it to work this morning for a shakedown cruise, and it pings under hard acceleration, doesn't want to run at an idle in gear and runs rough in at an idle out of gear. I went out at lunch and looked it over and found my first bone head mistake, I still had the vacuum for the distributor off and plugged!ou: After I hooked that up I took it out and still not right! I was going to go to the show in Aberdeen tonight, but I may need to skip it and take the car home and tune it a bit more. I think I should look at the plugs and clean them ( they probably have about 1000 miles on them is all), re gap them the 0.007 wider that Pertronix says I can go, and look at the carb. I would like to change the fuel pump also because it's an old car and in the mornings I have the dry carb syndrome like so many do, but that's not in the cards for tonight. If I can't get it running any better I don't want to load my four year old up and go on a trip like that.
I can bearly walk right now, so I dont think I will make it. Its hard enough to drive, & walking sucks.,
David that's too bad to hear, was hoping to meet you. It sounds like a similar situation to the car I hope to bring - it's a rebuilt 350 (mild performance) with a Pertronix and it has a stumble when opening the throttle. I replaced the plugs last night and it seems to be running better but I suspect the ignition isn't right. The distributor shaft may have excessive play or the total timing might be off? That vacuum advance line shouldn't really matter (see the huge thread on timing an engine), mine is unplugged. Anyway, I will be attending no matter what, but whether I show a car totally depends on the forecast. I can't see stressing the whole day about the interior getting wet. That wouldn't be fun at all... :ball: Regardless, I can't wait and look forward to seeing everyone there! :beer
Well, worse comes to worse, it's going to be a choice between going to the Pushrods show in Hoquiam with the car, or going to Puyallup as a spectator. I don't know what I'll do and I don't want to put too much thought into it until I figure out if I can get it running well enough for the journey. I will be at a car show no matter what! If I just go as a spectator, I may hit the Hoquiam show on the way!
