Check out Uship.com Gary. You post what you want shipped, and get competitive bids. You can save hundreds off what auto shippers would charge. Even though it's a rolling frame, it takes up the same space as a car. I paid around $650 through a conventional auto transport company (long before I knew Wheelz had one just a few hundred miles away) to transport a rolling frame from Oklahoma to Florida. After committing to a shipper, I got a $500 offer from a Uship partner - after it was too late.
Hey Gary....I know you are working on this and I hate to sound desperate but I need to sell this frame relatively quickly. Please keep me informed as to what you find out , ok? ThanX Bud! :beer Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Hi Wheelz, I just entered the ad on uship.com and i would like to give it a day or two and see what happens. Is it the money you need fast or the space?.....or both? Gary
Go on Craigslist and and you can find a tow dolly, they're pretty cheap for around $500 (the cheapest I've seen) and you have it to use for future transports.
Gary..Ted McKinney just replied to another thread I have and he MAY BE willing to deliver this chassis to Ohio! ray: He'll chime in here soon I hope! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
I have used ushipit.com a few times and have had good luck. I'm not sure if that's the site you tried.
Thanks Joe, i'll have to try that one too. I thought it was USHIP.COM so i tried that one and haven't heard anything back yet. Cheers, Gary
Gary I have used them 4 times so far. Different transporter everytime. These guys drive around with a computer 24 7 so you might get lucky.
Yeah, that's right. I might be able to work this in. Gas to Ohio would work, but I have to go to Richmond Indiana afterwards for a car I deposited cash on. This is NW of Cinci. I could work this out where it would be at the end of month to accomodate the chassis delivery. This looks pretty sure but not set in stone just yet,so have a back up-just in case. Take me 2 days from Fla. I stop over in Atlanta at a friend's place overnight.
Gary...please contact TED as per his reply to the reply I replied to, asking for him to reply to you. ...whew. Anyway I can get this chassis to Ted before he heads out BUT YOU TWO need to coordinate the details...PLEASE post TED your email addy or tele or? and work on getting these arrangements underway asap! ThanX Ted! And ThanX Gary! Wheelz, over'n out. p Tampa Bay
Hi Ted, Can you give me a price for bringing Wheelz 65 GS chassis to Ohio for me? I'm PM'ing my contact info to you. Thank you, Gary
GUYS...well, its back on the market...I wont go into details, but the sale fell thru..so ITS once again, FOR SALE! I will list it on eBay this weekend UNLESS someone steps up to the plate NOW!!! :TU: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
What a bummer. I know its frustrating after all that work. At least, you gave it a valiant effort. :TU: (...oops, sorry, I mentioned a Mopar on the Buick Board. my bad.)ou:
well thanx Jeff... I feel like using my satellite powered GTX...or is it GPS? to locate and pay that silly road runner character to use some kinda electrical charger or high powered duster to ram and sweep the guy into a hole...and thro a dart at him...serve the scamp right. His intent turned out to be a real challenger only to find out he was a few $$ short. Perhaps some other swinger will take care of his barracuda mentality.... MOPAR? WHO said anything about Mopar??? ou: :beer Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Hey Wheelz, Did you save the VIN information from this car? If you did, can you please enter it into the 65 GS registry? http://www.65gs.com/registry.html Please add it as a parted out car and if someone contacts us years from now wanting to know if it still exists, we'll have a record of it. Thanks buddy, :beer
