http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0402274830&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT What do you guys think? Good canidate for a 350 swap for my 66 Lark?
If you water it will it grow another 115 cubes? Don't waste tour time with a sb. Unless your making a driver type car. If you want to go fast then you need a bb. I know alot of people will hate on me for saying that but simple truth is you can get goobs of power out of a stock type bb.
doesnt mention the miles.. does youre 300 need replaced, or you just swapping to a bigger engine just to swap over?
My 300 has some life left.. not sure how long until I get a compression test. But the shop I took it to said it sounded solid. I woud like my skylark to have a little more pep in her step on the street. I doubt Ill be taking her to the track. I have motorcycles when I got that type of itch I found that for $100 more they do have some 455 avail also http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0402274841&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT
I'm going to sort of disagree with Joe. You can make power with a small block, but on the other hand more cubic inches is better! As for these engines.... $450 plus shipping for a random grease covered engine that will probably be a low compression 2 barrel with a ton of miles with only a guaranty that it is suppose to be running condition when it arrives. Not a good deal to me. They say that they check compression and oil pressure, but they don't say what they call OK to ship. If you want a 350 keep an eye on craigslist and post what you are looking for here. You are going to be way too deep into an engine that may be on it's last legs, and when you go to rebuild it you may not even want to use the pistons that are in it.
well if its just going to be stricktly cruiser and not a weekend warrior or track car then just put a 300 or 350 in...whichever you find 1st the time $$$ allows both can be built up...a tad eaiser for the 350 though if you havent already ditch the st300 for a th350..or 200r4 if you already did or plan to do a 3.42+gearswap
All I'm saying is a stock 350 can't come close to a stock 455. No? I mean if you want to cruise it then the sb is perfect.
I wish I could too Bruh, but it probably wouldn't make it to NJ. Shoddy build quality. It's in storage now anyway. I'm looking for top end parts for my Honda Magna. I'm gonna tear it apart and see what I can do with it. I'll probably get lost and have to drag it to the shop. I have a shop manual tho. Stock it has 80 RWHP, I'm gonna try to improve on that. It's pretty quick for a croozer, but we'll see.o No: PONCH
I bet it would make it just fine. I know how capable you are friend!!:Brow: If anyone can make that bike faster you can.:TU:
Seems kinda steep for an unknown condition 350. Plus they say "some are rebuildable" does that mean that most arent? Mark
