Somebody Please Buy this 1971 N25 Convertible!

Sale is on Tuesday, August 24, 2010! I would buy it but I simply cannot get to it.

Correction, it looks like a 72 bumper.

By the Vin it is a 72 GS 455. The other one is a 66.

 

Sorry about the 71 reference. I realized it was a 72 immediately after I hit send, but the Internet conked out and I couldn'e correct!

 

Anyone have a comment on what this would be worth to part out? Or is it a good restore? It's near me and i have the cash to possibly do something with it

 

restore it! restore it! restore it! there were only 114 72 GS455 auto converts made!

to part it out though things I see:

GS hood- $600-800
N25 rear bumper-$400?
front bumper (core)- $50-75
rally wheels- $100-200 Set Depending on condition
wheel centers- $20-40 Set depending on condition
fenders (if good) $150-200 each
core support (if good) $400-500

The car is in california so shipping would be a potential deal killer.

Somebody buy that car!

It looks very rusty, and doesn't seem to have the Buick motor

 

I agree with the wrong motor, but it doesn't look like the rust it too bad except for the quarters and bumpers.

 

Doesn't that seem a little weird that

1. The bidding is only up to $150?

2. Someone would just say, "gee I give up on a rare muscle car convertible, I am going to have a salvage yard company come and just take it away"?

I am not sure how this "Copart" auction thing works although I have heard about it. I did not look real close at the details but I suppose a person has to sign in etc and this car probably has a reserve.

But could it actually sell for say $1000 ?

And why wouldn't a GS fan buy it and ship it? Isn't there a GS club member out there that could store it until transport could be arranged?

I once sent a deposit on a 72 GS 350 4 speed convertible that had all the parts stripped off it that were GS specific but the tag and provenance were there. It might have taken me 10 years to redo it but I wish I had bought it. I think it was a low numbers car despitye being a GS 350 car.

Looks like they are gone, won't come up by search anyway. Hopefully the right guy bought them....
