9.50s??? Hell I ran 5 back to back 9.0s on the 350 that's in the turbo car now with the wrong cam and the wrong carb for NA and stock manifolds with 2" downpipes..
Update The guy I beat has added a cold air induction kit. Now the store owner is sure that will mqke up the half fender. Surprise..... I've gone from 3.08 to 3.42, old hard street tires to et street radials, stock 13" converter to tsp 9.5"(ordered yesterday), 90/10 shocks, correct ignition curve, thinking about carb spacer and h pipe. He will probably beat me but I'll have fun anyway.

Good luck!! Do you have a freind you can borrow a GN from? They probally wouldn't even notice :Brow::3gears:
Anytime it's not the guy who owns the car you are supposed to race that's calling you out, you have to call B.S. in the firs place! Even if he does beat you eventually (and he'll probably keep throwing money at the problem), you can hold your head high for beating the stock version and for being able to put up a good showing after he tries and tries again. By the way, I think the camaro is a pretty good value for what you get in a new car.
Don't bet on it. This a familiar story for me because I have a friend who's been trying to beat me for years but all he ever does is buy brand new cars. This time he bought a 2011 Camaro SS and he was positive he was finally going to be able to do it. Didn't happen, so he put a cold air kit on it and ran the same time as he did without it. Then he spent $1,100 on a new Corsa exhaust system for it and still couldn't beat me. Next it was a bigger throttle body but I haven't been back to the track with him since then. Funny thing is, I heard he went to the track with the Camaro club but he never told me about it so I have to assume he still hadn't come up with an acceptable time to beat me. Last week he traded it in on a new Silverado, claiming he needed a truck. Not sure who he thinks he's fooling, he's never needed a truck for anything.
Im sure you'll whip him. Now beat him by a car length! Make him think his car got slower! (one of BrunoD's old tricks!)
Bill I'm so offended! Just kidding, we'll get'er done with the old v8 David exactly, the guy that will actually run me is quiet, soft spoken, just having fun. The third party just likes to stir the pot. That's where the comment about prolly getting beat comes from, I take away his stir stick when I say that. Bill very funny story, why can't some people just enjoy what they have for what it is? My oldest son is hell bent on making his Camaro as fast as my bu, no matter how many times I tell him that it's taken 15 years (many of which the car sat untouched) to get to this point. Jason funny you say that. If I made up all that distance the first race, and I've added much more than just an air box I ought to easily take him. BUT, I'm thinking about just getting him by a car length to leave some hope and drama for the store owner to chew on
Steve, You must have misunderstood my post, but I should have been more clear on it. What I meant by "Don't bet on it" was not to bet that a cold air kit will help the Camaro. The one my friend put on his was, according to him, the best on the market. The result was he gained .02 in ET but that could have been for any reason including the weather. I think GM did their homework on the Camaros and a simple cold air kit isn't going to do much of anything. In fact, that $1,100 exhaust system didn't even help my friend's car. Unless a person is willing to do some major work on them (gears, tires, long tube headers, etc.) or get a tune done on them then they aren't going to get a whole lot of extra power out of them, and the reason why most of them won't get a tune is because it voids the warranty which will kill off quite a bit of value to the car.
He may have been talking to me, about suggesting a turbo V-6 would be faster than his BB V-8. And my apologies I did not realize you had a BB in there.
Yes Bill, the other Bill....Bill. LOL NO APOLOGIES FROM anyone needed! I'm good if you're good! ---------- Post added at 01:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:12 PM ---------- Yes Bill, the other Bill....Bill. LOL NO APOLOGIES FROM anyone needed! I'm good if you're good!
Love the video !! But I just have to ask why is it guys put all this crap on the car like cold air intake, Corsa exhaust system, headers, ect ect. that stuff really never seems to make all that much difference on the time at the track. Now you come into my area with all these Chebby Nascar guys they are not playing... Turbo systems, Twin Turbo systems, Super Chargers, NOS. ect ect these are things I can see doing to a new Camaro to get the time down with. For what many people end up spending on stuff that makes no real change in there car they could have put a Super Charger on and really had a power house to drive. Great Kill Story..... Got to love the BBB PS I am a die hard Buick guy but have to say I would LOVE to have a new Convertible Camaro... They are sweet !!
