Just put a deposit down on a 1963 Invicta wagon. I am to pick it up tomorrow. White with blue checkered interior, roofrack and a rear windshield wiper. 45,000 miles and been sitting since 1982. I don't know what I have and will post pictures when I get her home. Wish there was some sort of counseling we could go to. We join these clubs looking for help and just get in deeper..........
There is a cure for what we have, it just takes lots of money and garage space!! Sounds like a cool ride though, looking forward to seein some pics!
Just stick to ONE wagon!! (Re: Why do we do this, My new wagon) Dear Paul, Shawn, and V-8 Buick wagon fans, Wow, sad that it has been neglected for so long, but sure is a treasure to find a car with such few miles. But that's easy . . . . just stick to ONE car! If you think you've finished with it . . . . it's because you didn't look hard enough!! Take it from such a sucker!! ou: Cheers, Edouard :beer
Wagons RULE !!! Congrats ... ... and personally I think its our wives' that need counseling. We're fine ou::beers2:
Looks in GREAT shape!! (Re: Why do we do this, My new wagon) Howdy Paul and V-8 Buick wagon lovers, Well, some elbow grease is always required, but all in all it does look in really wonderful shape! The interior and drive-train may yet throw at you a nasty surprise, still for a 49 year old car. You won't find anything much better than this on the exterior. If you have to feed your addiction, that's a great place to start! :TU: Thanks for saving another Buick wagon! :TU: Cheers, Edouard :beer
Why? Well, as a wise man once said: "If you had in your hand all the money that you'd ever spent on cars, you'd probably go spend it on cars."
I got it running and moving but it needs brakes. Slowly getting it cleaned up. My plans are to get it running and driving correctly and take to Hershey this fall and find a new home for her. I currently have a 1963 Riviera a 1967 Skylark convertible with a complete rebuilt 400 four speed possi rear from a 67 GS convetible and a 2007 Saturn Sky. I really didn't need the wagon and hope to come out a head in the end. It dosen't always work out that way. It's been several years (ten or more) since I sold one at Hershey but in the past have sold a 1938 LaSalle, 1960 Impala and a 1955 Buick. I am not a dealer and don't do this for a living. I enjoy the hunt and my wife hasn't killed me yet. Got to love the interior!
Hope indeed she gets a good home (Re: Why do we do this) Dear Paul, Ted, and V-8 Buick Wagon lovers, Sounds like indeed you've got your hands full. On the other hand, the wagon is really in wonderful condition so hopefully with a little TLC you'll make it appealing enough so someone else will fall in love with her and take her off your hands. Looks like you've done your duty as far as rescuing a classic Buick! Thanks for doing that! :TU: Cheers, Edouard :beer
Get some ramps for the back of the Invicta Wagon ... you can drive the Saturn Sky up into the back cargo area.
I had all of the fluids changed and I am waiting on a brake booster Car is quiet and smoke free. The car was sold new at Valley Buick in Turtle Creek PA but has been around. All of the oil change stickers are still on the door jam and one is from Arizona. Bumper sticker on the rear of the car "Houston Astrodome, Eighth Wonder of the World" I wonder if I shut all of the doors and windows I could hear any stories of the voyages it's been on.
Cool, Turtle Creek PA. The home of the Vogues with their big hit.... "Five O'Clock World." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vovq5vV5gMw
