Good overall condition. Small rust issues in lower rear quarters, area under vinyl top under rear glass is gone, rusted away. Good door panels, hood has surface rust only, fenders (inner and outer) both good, bumpers driver quality, not believed to be posi rear but can verify if someone is interested. Wheel opening trim is good. Disk brake car. Manual windows and seats. Side and rear glass is good, windshield is not. Grille is good, trunk lid has some rust in the lip. Basically, I bought the car for the engine, frame mounts and transmission. Everything else is up for grabs. Post a reply with what you want or need and I'll check it out and get you pics if the ones I have here aren't what you want to see. Interested in side moldings (all 6 pieces, both sides), portholes (all 6 again) and alll four door handles, if all pit-free. Would like to see pics of the rest of the handles and the passenger side moldings, not in the previous sets. Thanks in advance, Steve.
Thanks for the posts guys. I'll get new pics of everything, close-ups this time, and get them posted up. I'll be over there tomorrow and should get the pics up tomorrow evening.
I can't tell but it looks like it has the passenger side mirror. Intrested pending picture . Shipping to zip 19050. Thanks.
Thanks for asking! I'm talking about the "bumper" strips, the horizontal linear strip that starts on the front fender and runs parallel to the ground and rearward through the front and rear doors. Three pieces for each side, chrome with small rubber insert. Best regards, Steve. Here are a few pics for you. The moldings seem to be in good shape with the sole exception being the rear driver side. The rubber/vinyl strip that is glued to the chrome on that one piece is peeling away. The door handles are about the best I've seen on a car this old that has spent it's life outside. The attached pictures don't really show the pitting that is on them. You MAY be able to polish it off. The port holes are good though they definitely need restoration. I'm guessing the best way to remove the moldings is with light application of a heat gun and using something like a gasket scraper or razor blade? I'd be happy to put the four door handles in the box with the moldings and port holes for you to look over. If you like them and want them, great. Keep them and we can call it even for $15.00 for each door handle and porthole, then a total of $20 for the molding? All in would be $170 plus whatever shipping is? That assumes of course, that you want to keep the handles. If you PM me your address, I should be able to get these shipped in the next five days or so what with work and family obligations. I'll send the parts, you can wait to send the funds until you approve or reject the door handles. If you don't want the handles, adjust the total by $60 and send them back please?
Well, it DOES have a mirror on the passenger door though I wouldn't put it on a dump truck. At the dump. In the dark... :TU: No idea where this ugly thing came from. uzzled: Here's a couple of pics to show you what I mean.
$20 per item? Total of $60 plus shipping. The glove box liner is excellent. Dry, can't see any stains or water spots. Obviously the emblems need to be detailed. I can't tell without pulling the liner and trying to fit in in the smaller USPS box whether or not it will fit. If it does, without stuffing it or being close to that, I'll use the smaller one for $5.35. :TU: If I can't be sure it will ship and arrive in good shape, I'll use the bigger one for $11.35. Fan shroud is most excellent Jim. $30. A/C compressor isn't locked up though there is a sticker underhood that may say no deal. It says there system was converted to R134 and there is a large screw on cap on the connection. See the picture attached for the sticker info. As far as the battery tray, it's all rust eaten. Pics attached. Let me know about that A/C compressor. If you do want it, how does $60 sound? By the way, I'll have to get it out and weighed before I can guess on a shipping price.
Are these the specific parts you are talking about? The gray plastic above the lenses? Just want to be sure we are talking about the same parts. It seems like these kinds of light weight parts are cheapest shipped in the USPS Flat Rate boxes. These look like they would safely fit in the $11.35 size box.
Pretty sure the side mouldings you were talking about are bolted on from the inside of the doors/fenders. At least they are on the Electras. Just for some info, what kind of shape are the window sweeps in? (The rubber strips that run along the doors at the base of the windows to keep water out of the door) They're screwed on from the inside by a couple of tiny screws that hide behind the glass.
Wow. Thanks for the tip on the moldings. Saves a LOT of frustration. I don't recall specifically looking at the window sweeps, though I can tell you that the rubber door seals are trash. I should be over there this evening or tomorrow and will take some pics for you.
Yeah. It was hard to see in the other pictures. It looks like it was trying to social climb by attaching itself to a Buick. Thanks
