I hate to say it but I think this motor was just a flash in the pan..Unfortunately,we will never see much from it..Wouldn't have taken too much to drop in another car and prove it's self. But I think it's just a dream..Been too long and nothing for a long time.Let's see some results like the 1021 hp motor..By the way, where did that motor go now?? This is the real reason TA wont ever do aluminum heads etc for the 350. I think it's time someone build a new 350 and we move from there. How about a true 350 build that's not in someones dream. There are several cars out there to drop a 350 in and get results.Let's see actual 350 turbo motor pics, videos etc..Not just talk. To be absolute honest, that's why people pull 350's out and drop a BBB in..
Must run like crap if that's what you are shoving through them turbos..:grin:Maybe you should try some Miller and see what it has in it...lol
It sounds like he is pretty happy with the car on low boost. I think he is going to LOVE it when he turns the boost up!
1.85 60.. 7.70 at 92 1/8th..Over and over.. 8 lbs of boost....Foot brake... My wife drove it to work last week. It sounds like an electric car. Nothing special has been done to the car to make it fast at the strip. Except for the little bit loose converter it is like driving it off the showroom floor.. TOTALLY stock 40 yr old suspension.. New shocks.. With the 325/50 DRs it rocks on the street and makes uneventful passes at the strip time after time.. You would be completely surprised. Car should run mid-high 11s at 117 or so.. Oh.. I just leave it in D. Seems to make no difference.. Working on getting the 60 down a little..
Sounds like a great combo..That's what we need not old wives tales...Actual proof...I would like to have a motor like that and be able to`use a built 200R and get some 25 plus mpg..If that's possible.
Pat.. My cruise AFRs are are low 14s WOT low 12s.. Problem with fuel mileags is that it is impossible to not mat the gas pedal and feel all of the torque that is available any f'n time you want it any time you want to do it. It's there, and it's like crack.. Yeah.. I manage to drive to a local cruise in from time to time without nailing it.. But why?? Running about 80 and hitting it is REALLY a scream.. WOW.. It pulls to 100 in about 2 seconds or so..
I know that jefferson is getting about 20 MPG with his worn out stock 350 and the Burton twin kit. He doubled the HP of the engine on the dyno with just 5 PSI of boost. He is now adding a 400 HP NA Buick 350 so it should make some serious power soon. I can not wait to leave the line at 3200 off the trans brake witht he turbos spooled. It should leave violently, might need a wheely bar!
.[/QUOTE] is the block bored or is it stock ---------- Post added at 02:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:05 PM ---------- is the block stroked any, and does it have stock internals
If you are asking about the original engine in this thread it is 30 thou bore and stock stroke. It was using stock rods with ARP bolts and custom forged pistons, head porting was the only other real mod to the engine. I am pretty sure that Jay's turbo engine is just 30 thou bore and it is stock stroke as well. He is using stock rods as well and forged pistons.
I wish you did end up keeping the car and the engine, after all these years it is still a mystery how this engine would have done at the track. It is a great rally point behind the argument for a single plane intake and aluminum heads
