Hello all! I am new member to this. What is the difference between these 3 models? 1961 only. Lesabre vs Invicta vs Electra. I am interested to know more about 1961 models only. 2 door bubble tops only. Do all 3 have the same body style? Do all 3 have the same engine? -Ty
LeSabre and Invicta are the same body style, Electra is slightly longer wheelbase/body, and also slightly different rear quarter windows (see attached pictures of my LeSabre and Electra, plus a burgundy Invicta) LeSabre came standard with the 364, Invicta had upgraded trim and interior, and came with the 401. Electra came with the 401.
Yup, and as is traditional with Buick, the LeSabre (lowest priced full-sized Buick) had three portholes (cruiserline ventiports, if you are a real Buick nut), the rest had four.
Chris, That is one fine looking LeSabre...:TU: Did you buy that car from Boris in Ohio?o No: The Electra has the same top as 61' Cadillac. It has a harder or square line in the "C" pillar than the Invicta or LeSare. Chris, correct me if I am wrong here but, I believe the LeSare, like the Chevrolet Bel Air, Sport Coupe being the less expensive model and not haveing as much trim also has the painted roof rail moldings. Where as the Invecta, like the Impala, has the stainless roof rail moldings. Dan
Hi , all i can tell you is that my 61 lesabre has painted roof line trims , which i am still chasing one of if their are any leads , cheers Rob
Thanks Dan. I bought it from a guy in TX, who bought it from Boris a year or two earlier. It was too expensive for me when Boris had it for sale. Yes, you are corrrect, the Invicta and and Electra have the stainless interior moldings, and the LeSabre is painted.
