You both do not need No2 to mke high HP numbers with this engine!

How high HP numbers are you aiming for?

Without hijacking Doug's thread, Mike estimates around 900hp on E85 with 13.0:1 and small '660 lift 270' cam

Those are impressive numbers, with such a "low" lift cam:TU:

Well, the day has finally arrived! Scotty got it running last night and it made 850 Hp right off the bat. He said we should be able to tune it to about 880. The important part for me is the fact that he loved verything about this whole deal, from the block to the rockers, to the cam, the pan...everything. He said it didn't fart, burp, hiccup, or leak a drop of anything. He also said it sounds NASTY!! He especially loved the block's ability to externally restrict the oil up to the valvetrain. He's hard to please, so if loves all of it, I know I will as well.

Congrats Doug, its going to be a loooong winter for you:laugh: I am sure If I looked around here I could find this info but I will ask here. What intake and carb set-up did you go with and do you have any idea how much your new engine weighs fully dressed?

Nice very nice! With that cam it will have some street manner to! :Brow:

I hope you will have some great times this upcoming race season with this engine!

Maybe its time to upgrade your trans and rear, to be sure it will withstand the Torque of this Nast Beast! :TU:

Best guess is right around there, in good air.

I run a TA SP2 that was hogged out and equalized by Scotty back in 1995. Carb is an 1150 Dominator model 9377 that we got from Gary Williams (he does Pro-Stock carbs) when I first got my 525", around 2003. Don't know what it weighs. I guess I'll find out how much lighter it is when I weigh the car. Race weight was 2815 in Bowling Green this year. Backup 494" motor had no girdle or block fill so that's the comparison I can make.

My car hasn't been driven on the street since the former owner was driving every day back in the 1980s. I'd get thrown in jail for driving it on the street now! The entire drivetrain was built to be bomb-proof almost 20 years ago. Ford 9-inch rear, 4-inch aluminum driveshaft, SFI certified trans case. It's all good. I did buy a Superglide case and tailhousing recently so my UltraCase/UltraBell/Ultra Tailhousing powerglide can become my backup.

    Hi Doug,
Scotty called me as well, your right he was like a little kid with a new toy. Made me feel great as well to hear his excitement and then have him tell me how much he liked all the parts especially the block. Scotty called a catalog engine. He loved it.
On another note, he felt he could put a car in the 6.50's now with nitrous.

I was going to put up a 'shocked' emoticon, but i'm not because these things will handle a lot of power and I can't wait to see someone pull a 6 with one.
    Cheers

    Doug,

Congrats on your new engine. If possible, could you post the dyno sheets?

I would love to see Scotty back in a Buick(especially a 6.50 sec.one). That would probably bring more people to the Buick camp.

Thanks John. Scotty posted one on Facebook alon with some dyno pics. You can check it out there if you want because I won't have them in my hand until he sends them up to me.
