So i guess that means i am up...i will try get a hold of the seller and let everyone know what I end up doing ASAP.
LOL! My comment was directed at the fact that the rules are meant to protect the seller from the buyer holding up the sale, not the other way around. The Seller is under no time constraints and can take as long as he wants to do a deal. And I think the seller noted that he isn't on the board very often and best to call him....
So what you are saying is everyone one got screwed that was in line, I don't know whats wrong with people. ou: I had the chance to bypass everyone of you guys and I didn't take it. I wonder who the dead beat is? ---------- Post added at 04:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:24 PM ---------- How do you know the car is sold? ---------- Post added at 04:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:25 PM ---------- Calling didn't get any of us any where and 48 hrs is a guide line and the way I read that rule it's for sale of said part or car.
Not for nothing, but I talked to the owner of this car a few times and he made it quite clear he was not interested in any of the board rules. He was going to sell the car to the first person who showed up with cash, no matter who or how it happened. I called him on day three, and he had spoken to two other people, both of which were non-committal and hadn't made an appointment to see the vehicle. He was making up disks of pictures to send, but was doing that on his own schedule. I still haven't gotten mine. I wasn't interested in buying the car basically sight unseen and wasn't close enough to lay eyes on it, so now don't own it. What are you gonna do with a guy like that? Kick him off the board?
I spoke to him also and can confirm he wasn't interested in holding up his end of the bargain when it comes to board rules, which makes it kind of difficult for anyone who tries to follow the rules.
I have mixed feelings on this subject.... I have been pissed off due to having a car bought out from under me on the board all while following the board rules, and I have lost out on a sale as a seller following the board rules. You wait and weave through the butt pickers and tire kickers, only to take too long and have a REAL buyer find something else, then your stuck trying to sell for the next 6 months, begging for a buyer due to the feeding frenzy turning cold, and end up taking much less than what it could have been sold for right off the bat. Sorry, in this day and age, with the current economy, classic car market down, health care B.S., etc. CASH IS KING money talks, and(you know the rest) Besides people, it was a triple brown non-stage car.....move on.:TU:
So basically, you said you don't care about the board rules, which would beg the question of why even be a member. This would explain it:
Have you got your KB valve covers yet? You can't force people to have morals. I have always liked the idea of knowing that when I shop or sell here on V8buick things are safe, above board but most of all others would have your back if someone trys to screw you. Boy have things changed. This is for the most part buick only sales, there is NO where else better to buy and sell buick parts/cars, or should I say use to be. The rules are there for a reason, e-bay has rules, as a matter of fact I will go out on a limb and say all web sites have rules of some sort or other. Sorry but I say start giving people the boot, hold them to the fire. This kinda bs is NOT what put V8buick on the map. In the past others looked here and wanted to have what we have enjoyed but I am afraid that now things are just like the others.
What comes around goes around.Theres still a bunch of good board members on this site. The bad ones will get whats coming to them in the end.
Your gonna have guys like this.. Get free advertising for his car, and not give a rat's ass about the folks that provide that service for him. So he sold his car.. good riddance I say. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. The rules are in place for a reason, if you don't agree with them, there are plenty of other places to buy and sell.
I bought the car. After posting "in line", I heard no response from the seller. So I called the number and left a message. Owner called me back within the hour. I asked what the status was on the car. He told me he had received several calls on it, that there is no "line", and first come, first served. I figured he wasn't on the board much since he's been a member for over 5 years and only has 45 posts. Sorry if I stepped on anybody's toes.
Cash is king? It is a few simple rules to follow and I hate to be the one to tell you this but like in life like it or not the rules are there so there isn't complete mayhem here. Just in case you don't know what "mayhem" means its A state of violent disorder or riotous confusion; havoc OR to put it simpler "Yellow Bullet"
Congrats on the car anyway - it looked pretty nice. Let us know how it looks in real life, but you might want to start a different post...!!!
