Well, I sold the vette on the 6th, had all of the money by the 9th and loaded it on the reliable truck today, headed for paso Robles California, never to be raced again, boy is he going to love that 4:30 gear on ice cream night. He wanted the radial ta's to boot. I have the vette ralleys with the polyglass f70/15 for sale, bb exhaust manifolds and other parts if anyone has an interest So now what? Run the Camaro this summer, and look for another car, the first criteria is air conditioning, I will even take an automatic!, looking for a 70-72 trans am if any body knows where one is, let me know.
Stand strong my 4 speed friend. You don't want an automatic. Here you go: 71 Trans Am 4 speed with AC http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/pontiac/trans_am/1632448.html
I seem to have a knack for finding Pure Stock Pontiacs for V8 board members... Here's my contribution for you: http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/cto/4344077240.html No A/C though, sorry. BTW... do you have a $ in mind for the BB Vette manifolds?
I decided to sell the car for a lot of reasons, first I built the Camaro and then ended up with 2 cars that were set up for the track, I did not realize how horrible a vette rides until I drove the Camaro , the heat is unreal in the summer, the car needed paint and was originally a yellow car and I did not want to paint it as I was already $30,000 underwater on it, but 15 years of fun makes it only $2,000 a year, priceless. But the straw that broke the camels back was at Woodward when I went to the Ncrs dream cruise event so that a few of the guys could see the Camaro, long story short, one of the guys gave me a hard time and then pounded on the roof of the car with a registration box as I was leaving. The Ncrs group is a real treat to deal with, some great people with a ton of real knowledge and then a few guys like this stoog, plus I no longer care if my valve cover bolts have the small or large TR head mark stamp. The last reason, I want a car with AIR CONDITIONING, I am looking at a 72 4 spd with air in Illinois, I am trying to keep it under the 40k number, so the nice 50-100k cars with matching bolt head marks are out of my league
Anyone that doesn't care about the correct marking on bolts doesn't deserve to be a Corvette owner.... Maybe that's why I don't own one either.
Hahahahahahahahah:laugh: Omg now that's funny. Cuz you know he has one p Donny, that will be quite a collection of Members only jackets and silver vette jackets you have assembled.
