Wanting to put a posi in my '7o Skylark. Can you tell me what all makes, models & years will fit? HELP!!! :eek2:
The stock 68-70 Buick rear is unique to Buick. There is very little aftermarket support. Contact Jim (screen name Monzaz ). He has modified Posi units that will work. This is his website, www.jdrace.com You can transplant the entire rear. In 1971 and 72, Buick went to the 8.5 10 bolt which is a very strong rear and there is lots of aftermarket support. http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/85rear.htm
Will depend on the gear ratio in the raer right now and YOU REAQLLY need to ID the rear before making any decisions on anything. Send pictures of the rear cover area and you will probably need to open the rear cover and spin the ring to find the tooth count stamped into the edge of the ring gear. Jim
sent an email to jd race. see what happens. Anyone know where we can order an intake manifold for it? having issues finding that too!!!
Jim, thanks for all your help. Any knowledge you can throw our way is greatly appreciated. If you knew the whole story, you'd understand more how much this means to us. Thank you!!!uzzled:
