Hi everyone I'm trying to find door handles or door pulls, what ever you want to call them. For a 1967 Riviera GS . Have a look at the picture . Im in New Zealand so your help for places to go to will be gratefully received. I know this is a bit of a hard item to find so I really need your help. Cheers Matt
They are 'front door pulls' Matt, and a very hard item to find, as most of them ended up broken like yours. I think they are '67 only - there were 3 different types for '68, and each style was colour coded to the interior of the car. o No: Good luck with your request ! :TU:
Thanks I have been looking for a few years now of and on. I only need that one guy to have one . I am interested in incomplete ones . I can put together from bits and pieces Thanks Matt
Matt, CTC Auto Ranch in Denton, TX has two model year 1967 Riviera parts cars on their website. This one has the driver's door in the boot, but I know that they have a lot of used parts in storage :TU: (they are very expensive, especially when they find out that you are in a diffferent country.....) Click photos to visit website :Comp:
Those are the exact same door pulls as used on the '67 Electra. The rear doors on a 4 dr body have them as well.
I have contacted them no luck. It might be that I make new ones my self. I do have one full handle although it is broken. Just need to put my thinking cap on.
I've searched the interweb a wee bit, and I came across this (in cache) link on Oodle. The actual advertisement is gone, but you can try to contact the seller "b4plasticars" in San Diego through eBay. Maybe he still has the door pulls for sale, he says he took them off in 1997.... Click here if you prefer to contact him by e-mail :Comp: (you need to be registered at eBay for that) Good luck! :TU:
According to the text in the advertisement from this ''b4plasticars'' seller above, they are. But Randy thinks they are 1967 only. Post photos of your 1966 door pulls so Matt can figure this out :TU:
Well thanks every one for your help. Its taken two or three years of and on but I found some and installed them today. I think I have emailed a dozen places but with your help I narrowed it down. So Buick Farm came through for me . Good people and communicated well which is what you need when you are buying from New Zealand and it was here in ten days ! Nice one Thanks Guys Matt
Matt, that's part of the hobby. When you own a classic car, it's not all about just cruising around in a big V8 :bglasses:
It is a good feeling when you find that hard to find part . When it comes to the door it's like Christmas. Matt
Yes, we all know that feeling :beer Did NZ Customs charge you for import tax? Here in the Netherlands, they started doing that a few years ago. You pay import tax over the purchase price + shipping, making this hobby even more expensive :ball: (we also have the most expensive petrol in the world)
Yes they do but only on things over $400 NZ . This was about $130 all up. So not to bad . I have also ordered new lowered springs , shocks ,bigger front and rear sway bars . Which is going to cast heaps .
