Does any one know if Walker still make the correct Mufflers for 1970 GS 455? If so, the part numbers would be helpful for stock and turbo mufflers, not sure which way I want to go. If not, the original spec's for them so I can try to locate some.uzzled: Thanks Ron
Walker made a replacement exhaust to oem spec's. I installed a few on my GS's when I was in my twenty's. They made the downpipes, mufflers and tailpipes. Thanks, Ron
Thanks for the information on the Gardner system, but I just need the mufflers. I already have new down and tailpipes. Just looking for the Muffler spec's. L x W x H :TU: Thank You! Ron
The Walker 17749's are very nice long case mufflers for 2 1/2" pipe. Lots of guys using them. http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/1...1&cadevice=c&gclid=COCu0ZPDxMYCFYSPHwodfWUByw As far as the exact stock mufflers go, if Walker still made the exact replacements you could look it up on www.rockauto.com, but they don't show anything so I would say Walker no longer makes them, haven't for some I'd say.
This is all Walker has listed on their web site: http://www.walkerexhaust.com/catalog/walker-exhaust-systems/e-catalog-lookup
Well, there it is, http://www.amazon.com/Walker-22105-Quiet-Flow-Stainless-Muffler/dp/B000RUDJ6A At least that is the 350 system muffler.
Gentlemen, I want to thank you for your help with this. I did some more research on the walker mufflers. The 22105 muffler is for the 350 engine and has a 2" offset inlet and 2" offset outlet. The muffler spec's are 19L x 9.75W X 4H now that being said the 455 has 2.25 offset inlet and a 2.0 offset outlet. The L X W X H should be the same because of the same wheel base and the muffler sits in the same position as the 350. If all is true Walker make a stock replacement muffler for the 455 engine. The muffler number is 17846 Sound FX model spec's are 19L x 9.75W x 4H and you can by them on line for about $35.00. Please feel free to double check my information. This will help all who are looking for a stock replacement muffler for there 455 GS's. ou: Thanks, Ron
you mentioned turbo mufflers. I recently had my original muffles (yes, originals) replace with a mandrel bent H pipe system with turbo mufflers. My buddy asked where I got them he was so impressed. ME? I'm trying to figure out how to turn down my hearing aids! They are quite loud and very deep and if that's you style: get 'em.
I pm'd you...give me a call. Also do a word search in here for the word..."IMCO" Buick Eric / Oregon :3gears:
I want the quietest mufflers I can get for my '71 GS 350. Can anyone comment on how quiet the Walker 22105 muffler is? Thanks
