The articles used to be on the Car Craft site, but it looks like they're now on the Hot Rod site and not in their original format. That is back when I used to love that mag. I used to enjoy Tony's articles quite a bit. I was disappointed when he and that car disappeared.
Walt, I bought the car from Tony. Met him in Milwaukee at one point but the car was in Burbank, Cali. I prob'ly have copies of the articles. There was a good one on Praise brake shoes, and the big adventure when they drove the car from Milwaukee to LA. I got to fix all the dash wiring problems mentioned in that article.... Pat

I don't think there were more than 3 or 4 articles that Tony wrote about the car. Here's a pic after I had in back in Mass.
they did a cam swap and ran it on a dyno. It was also part of an article where the entire staff was at the strip. . There was a picture of it going down the track with a caption mentioning mid 16s, and making fun of Tony for shifting like a girl.
Just came across this post, and wow, I am flattered that people are still asking about the old Buick. Yes, I bought this car from the original owner, a retired dentist in Tarzana, CA, for $900 back in 1996 when I was a freshman in college. The picture on the carsinbarns.com site is exactly how I found it. Brought it back to Claremont, CA using a tow bar attached to my Land Cruiser which is a story in itself. I rebuilt the original 401 mostly stock, adding only a Poston cam, adjustable pushrods, and a spreadbore '66 intake with a 425ci Q-Jet. The car a lot of fun but was always slower than I expected and I think it finally ran 15-teens at Carlsbad (I can already hear the Nailhead guys sighing ). I owned the car for about 6 years and really enjoyed it, but had to downsize when I went to graduate school. Still have a bunch of other cars and am currently working in Detroit, at GM. Tony
