Coming together nicely Dean, I'm shocked how these Buick muscle cars keep coming out of the woodwork up here in North Dakota. :TU:
Last week found out my 2 piece rotors were warped, so ordered some from local auto parts store. They came in as a 1 piece rotor. Long story short found some at SS396.com, took a chance ray: and they are an exact match to my Buick rotors.:TU:
As of tonight front end is put together, All stainless steel fuel lines, brake lines and hoses, and transmission lines are installed.
Dean It appears your car still sports it's original paint. I hope you are leaving body alone to preserve original paint?
Rich that is a question I struggle with everyday. There are parts of the car that have been repainted and paint is faded in many spots.
As requested, here are a few pictures Richard. Odometer shows 60991 original miles. There is not a lot of rust on this Buick. The only spots I know of rust is passenger lower front fender, drivers side of lower rear widow, and trunk floor is rusted. Couldn't get much for pics on drivers side as other car is in the way.
My thought is with everything you have/are doing it is nolonger a survivor... With all of that amazing work you have done it wouldn't be right to put a old worn out body back on... Do body work and put a amazing paint job on her... Lookin Great so far :TU:
i think i would have left it as a survivor but since you have the frame redone i don't know what i would do now
My thoughts are to stop the rusting process and save this amazing car. And enjoy it for he rest of my life, In a sense it is still a survivor, just in pristine condition...
Sorry it's not a Survivor anylonger, you have done way to much to it to be a Survivor... Fix the body & put a killer paint job on her... Just my 2 cents, not trying to get you mad...
Its all good. Not mad or upset at all. Just wanting to preserve this car and stop the rusting process. I feel these are beautiful cars and should be preserved.
When I got this car it was in a lot of pieces, it was not in tac. Otherwise wound have considered leaving it that way.
Sounds like you know the answer to my question already.. Yes,do the allotted necessary work and leave well alone.. i unfortunately, don't have the option to redo the paint etc,as there was too much cut away to do that without mega money. So, I am going to use the back halfed frame, and finish the tubbed out deal, throw some 15x14 Buick rally wheels and 33x18.5 tires on,and get the body straightened out adding new paint and gonna enjoy it..
