Installing throttle shaft bushings in carb on 73 Riv. I noticed there are 1/4" thick insulating base gaskets available. The gasket that was on it is thin. Is there an advantage to going with the thicker gasket? Disadvantages? Does it affect the choke linkage?
Insulates the carburetor from heat better. Does it affect the thermostatic choke link? Maybe a small amount, but that is easily adjustable.
How much does using an open type base gasget on a divided intake affect things? I have always wondered this while stacking thick gasgets with a heat shield between them
