While I no longer own a '65 Wildcat -- regrettably -- I've stumbled across a few photos of this beautiful example!
This one-owner Super Wildcat 4-speed car is fairly local to me, and I spoke with owner just last weekend.
Perfect timing...I just signed on to post pics of an original owner 66 GS I just stumbled upon in my neighborhood. Guy works at the PG&E facility by my house in Richmond, CA and I probably would have never seen it had there not been a detour due to roadwork. He ordered this at the Buick dealership in 1966 on Market St in San Francisco. Picked out the options and the color at the showroom. As you can see from the pics it's the Quadrajet 425 (not dual quad). Interestingly, some mechanic talked him into replacing the Quadrajet with a 65 stock manifold and Edlebrock carb! Huh?! Something about the CA emissions (A.I.R) version he had was giving him trouble? Other than that it's all original and "he's taking it to the grave with him".... Commutes 3 days with this beauty!
Here's mine. Just got it a few months ago and I'm still working out issues from the previous owner/mechanics. The good news is that the car is TOTALLY rust free, has a real nice original interior, nice paint and chrome. Hope to have it running the way it should soon!
My 65 Wildcat Custom with bucket seats and console, 401 with automatic trans. The Cat is originally from British Columbia/Canada. Now lives in Cologne, Germany.
I own a 66 Wildcat and have the later model road wheels. What diameter hole are in the wheel centers on the road wheels pictured on the teal W'cat? I have the later Buick Motor Division center caps on mine. I would love to add a set of the red Wildcat centers to mine. Mike
Those red centre caps would look great on mine too; - planning on putting red-walls on it next spring; - the red centre caps would be a great contrast; - where, oh where did you find them!! This one's mine, 67 Wildcat Custom Convertible.
Briz, in 65 the 4- speeds all had the little consolette ; bucket seat cars could have the ironing board console. Long console was automatic only in 65.
