Same combo I run in Scat, with a 308s and 330cfm SE stage2 heads we run 9.9s on a partial throttle stop.
I dont think a girdled block and the required oil pan would work in the Riviera frame. Ever buy a motor and later get a car to fit it.?
Mr.Paine, Jay here...You answered my question that I replied in another thread,( about the girdle ) I wish I had the ends to purchase this shortblock/ You seem to have some of the "toys" that I want...the case of the right stuff/wrong time.Good luck with the sale. Mr.Jay B.Britt, Jr.
While it may be a note on a good way to build one, this is a 482" shortblock complete and built as described. It is available right now. gary
Just thinking out loud here, this motor as built, if it were paired with a set of TE2 heads flowing the number below, sp2 intake, what kind of numbers would roughly guess it would make.......assuming a cam and everything for only bracket racing
Sounds great, Mike has a 482 underway for us now, the heads will be run on top our 12:1 464 this spring once the bottom end gets fixed up. Heads were done by Finishline it's there cnc program. Sounds like it could be the best 1100 bucks I've spent in a long time
All I know is Gary Paine builds the best motors around. He built my 70 Stage 1 pure stock motor that ran 12.03@ 116.3 mph on poly glass weighing in at 4004 lbs. He has 2 of my motors now underway. A lovely 464 and a 482. Best money spent.
Pretty much where ever you want it, depending on head cc and gasket thickness. With .010" deck and piston cc we have a lot of leeway. What cc are the heads?
Heres what I calculated with your specs, and easy options for more or less. 64 cc head and .040" head gasket 11.1 64 cc head and .052" head gasket 10.9 64 cc head and .027" head gasket 11.6 61 cc head and .027" head gasket 11.9 We can play with head gasket thickness for more or less using Cometic which has Buick head gaskets ,027" to .100" in thickness. Also with a little milling of the head surface, going to a 60cc head is no problem if you were going for a over 12 to 1 motor. With al. heads we've done 11 to 1 motors without issue with 93 octane for the street. gary
