Recently purchased Stage 3 heads from a well known member here. The build will be close to what you have, not as exotic as yours but things change as parts are ordered as we all know.Next will be block and crank.Have to say that thing is a work of art.Phenomal numbers also!!
Exactly the understanding I have Ethan. I can slip the oil pump belt off by hand to prime the engine. They say if you over tighten and HTD belt, that's when you have trouble. Julian, I hesitate to make that claim until it prints a timeslip to confirm the dyno number. I have yet to see a higher number from a cast, single carb combo. I'm inspired by the combos before mine, I hope this combo moves someone to exceed my numbers.
Thanks for posting it to Utube Gary. That would be a great race to see. I started reading Wayne's 1000 HP thread again and found this. http://v8buick.com/index.php?threads/1000-hp-na-bbb-ceiling-has-been-broken-through.282855/page-8 .
I got nothing for Wayne. His car is better suited for these power levels. My engine, his car with his daughter driving...we'd hit the starting line at about 2600lbs LOL
I think you may be pleasantly surprised at how good your car runs Gary. You stated your goal was to be a solid 8 second car no matter what weather conditions,,, well I will go out on a limb and say unless that dyno is way off you'll be deep 8's.. Its been a long wait but well worth the effort!!! Congrats on a job well done.. Timmy
The Wallace calculator says at 3370lbs. your car should go 8.30's at 161 mph with a 4.10 gear and 30" tall tire.
Gary, I am so impressed by all of the work that has been done, I was telling my nephew Brandon about it at deCordre Auto & Performance we are hoping to be in Bowling Green this year to see you and your car.
Engie, Thanks for the kind words. I will be trying to make BG as it's been a while since I've been there. Workload will dictate. Gotta make hay while the sun is shining.
