I am looking for my NHRA Stock Eliminator car that I sold in 1988 to a gentleman from Massachusetts. He sold it in 1998 to a gentleman from New York. That is were the trail goes cold. His phone number is no longer in service. That is not unusual since most people have gone to cell phones. The photos that I have posted are photos of photos, so they are not very clear. The car is originally a 1971 Stage I 4 speed car. The only thing left of the 4 speed set-up is the speedometer. If anyone knows where this car is, please let me know! Thanks, John
I don’t mean this rudely, but I am not going to publish the vin. If you or someone else thinks that they have found the car, I will give them my phone number. And they can call me. I talked to Lenny Williams about his stocker. If you know him. It is not my old car. Thanks, John
Thanks, Ray Your 71 GSX looks just like Ricky Well’s car. I did the engine and trans back in the late 90’s. There are some photos of it in the Year One catalogs.
Ricky’s car sold new at the Buick dealer in Glasgow, Ky. It was a 455 non-Stage with TH 400. The parts manager at the dealership bought it several years later from the original owner. When Ricky bought it, the engine was tired. It never left the area until he sold it in the early 2000’s.
I have received info about the New York owner. Bob at GA Performance in Mineola (Long Island). The phone number is no longer in service. There is a small engine shop there now. I talked to a person there and the building was empty when they moved in. They did not know what was there previously. Thanks, John
John, It you send Jason a Private Message it will NOT be out there for the public to see EXCEPT Jason.
I know the block well. I have several customers there. Does Bob have a last name? If you like I can ask some of the other repair shops that are in the neighborhood.
Jason, I was not given Bob’s last name. I would appreciate any help that you would be willing to give! Thanks, John
Thanks for all of everyone’s help! The car is probably in a garage or building somewhere and has not seen the light of day in years. I talked to one guy that saw it at a race in Pennsylvania fifteen years ago. He remembered seeing the U. S. Nationals class decals in the trunk! If anyone happens to see the car, please send me a PM! Thanks, John
