Scrap Buick Copper Radiators?

    Should I sell my old radiators for scrap? 2 bucks a pound
    Most were taken out of cars I parted out and are good. Do people need original style copper radiators for restorations?

    Yes, there are still people like me that use copper radiators for restorations. If you could let me know what you have I would probably buy some of them.

    i cut the tanks off with a sawzall and scrap the cores..shipping is stupid high..everyone wants to save them for restos etc..but most just dont come thru..i sell tanks..a lot of tanks..but they have to be mint..once you figure out which tanks are valuable..it works out well..i sold a pair of tans for $1000...i couldnt get 250 for them as a radiator...i dont understand it..but who cares...

    E body 2 and 3 row

    Are there tag codes to look for? Should I save tanks only?

    I am looking for certain radiators/tanks. There are letter codes embossed on the tanks like "CF" and "IA". The ones I am interested in would be the A & E body 3-cores.

    If you could let me know what you have I would appreciate it.

    Don't look at the tags. The tanks themselves have 2 letter codes like Duane said. Original Harrison tanks are getting harder and harder to find

    The codes I am looking for are stamped with raised letters on the tanks.

    I am looking for the following codes.
    CF
    IA
    XS
    CI
    IF
    If you have any of these I would appreciate your letting me know.

    The passenger side tank stampings are just below the upper trans cooler fitting. The drivers side tank stampings are closer to the middle.

    This is the Harrison that's in my car. I don't think it's the born with radiator but it might be close - or I could be wrong - which wouldn't suck.

    This picture is a zoomed in screenshot of one I took a few weeks ago after Dave Johnson methodically popped the overflow hose clip on the tank when I saw him at a car show.

    I know IA is embossed on the driver's side tank but this CF stamping is a recent revelation. I'll have to (clean off the tank) and look for the letter between the C and the F this week.

    This also has provisions for the TH400 and has 12D as the "build date" on the trim tag.

    That said, what's the correct code Harrison for a 1970 Stage 1 4-speed with a 12D build date?

    Apparently my 1972 Electra has no shortage of codes...

    I could not see any codes on the drivers side but it was just a quick scan before heading to work.
    Rad is out of the car and currently living in a shed in retirement.

    Yeah 72's started a whole different list of codes. The passenger side tanks were angled where the filler neck was attached. The ones I am looking for are the flat 71-earlier style.

    By the way, the hose clip on your pic is the other style clip I was talking about in another thread.
