I sold my 71 GS to a fellow down in New Zealand and he was very nervous about buying a car sight unseen and out of country. fully understood his concern and tried to be as open and forthcoming as possible. well I got a message from him yesterday when he picked up the car from shipper, in fact he was sitting in the car when he emailed me. I advised him this is a great site for Buick people interaction and resources. so hopefully we see him here soon. And I feel relieved that he's happy with the car and feels I treated him well. so long trusty green Mabel.
I had someone last year interested in mine from New Zealand also but exchange rate and shipping put the brakes on the deal..Apparently American muscle is very big there
Anything that burns gas is big here. Hot rods, speed boats, motorcycles, chain saws, log splitters, brush cutters. Boy, what a nice racket on the weekend! American muscle is definitely big. What you don't find here commonly is an interest in "correct" restorations. High end, yeah....but not the more average cars. People like to customize.
What functions do have to have undertake to have the car legal to drive in New Zealand? I am certain that the government will have its nose in their somewhere. Congrats on the purchase.
Congrats on the purchase? Oh yeah, there are definitely some hoops to jump through. Here is some info if you are interested. https://www.nzta.govt.nz/vehicles/warrants-and-certificates/entry-certification/
