I just went to snag up my first GS. I actually found it here. It had been posted by cjp69 (Chris) some time back. The ad was really old, but it was still active, and I liked the car so I called and left a message. Some here know the guy I bought it from, and he wasn't really in a hurry to sell. I think it was just a matter of I came semi-close to his price, and I think he was just looking for the right person to sell to. It just worked out. Its a loaded and heavily documented. Power windows, door locks, tilt column, PS, power disc breaks, air conditioning, F41, and AM/FM. Dan had the original window sticker, POP, part of the build sheet, and its more or less got all its original parts either on the car, or in a few boxes. The bad is, she needs paint, but not so badly that I can't enjoy it a few years before delving into that. I'm excited, and look forward to being able to be a bigger part of the community now that I have a car of my own.
Thanks! Yeah, its my first GS, but not my first classic. My last car being not really original, and quite the project... this time I said, I'll shell out and get something really original. I am happy I did.
Like I said in the other thread congratulations and drive it like you stole it. When you're ready for paint I would recommend Nick Serwo.
Honestly, the color wasnt even on my radar until fairly recently. It may not be the most popular, but I like it. Its a little different.
Auto. Oh, another plus I failed to mention is that the mechanical work on the car was all done by John Osborne. I've got all the receipts to show it. Its been a minute since then, but she still runs like a scalded ape.
