Not bad at all going in, lower center bolt wasn’t bad, but the dipstick tube was more of a pain than usual. Passenger side had a bitch bolt too, flanges on collector are welded so gotta make new extensions
Yes sir Im hitting a few minor obstacles, but nothing major. My braided line for reading oil pressure at the rear was too short. Gotta use the new collector extensions with the new headers and weld my o2 bungs onto 'em, as the new headers collector flange is welded, so I cant orientate the flanges to line up, plus they're a bit short I was expecting a few issues with the larger headers, but actually they fit amazingly well Im HOPING later today to fire it up
Probably should get some sort of heat shield for the trany lines and starter. They don't seem to hang to low,, Good
lookin good, what brand are they? If im adding headers to my 350 and want to use my current exhaust, where would I purchase the adapters to modify my pipes?
Looks great, I have the same headers. Old starter was prone to heat soaking , new hi-torque mini starter and a headshield from TA and no more problems. Looking forward to your updates!
TA Performance sells header reducers that you can bolt to your headers and then weld to your existing exhaust, but it all depends on what kind of headers you're using (full length or shorty): http://www.taperformance.com/categories.asp?cat=270 These may be available from elsewhere for cheaper but I know TA made these to fit their headers. I personally would use v-bands between my exhaust and headers but it depends on how fancy you want to be and if you have the guts to hack a pair of brand new headers!
He got headers from TA Performance 1 3/4 if not mistaken I painted my starter white to help dissipate heat. I also took it apart and cleaned it inside and out then put it back in I think it has been in there 20 years now with out a problem, knock on my brain...er, I mean wood.
That is cuz it is raining like mad here every other day and we can't do crap, can't even get wood for the darn wood burner.
