I've seen the red Maybach 6 coupe concept that Mercedes came out with a couple years ago, but hadn't seen the roadster until now.....this is the kind of stuff that needs to be put into production (with a domestic badge). Gorgeous.
Looks much better with the top removed IMHO. The top is too small for that massive body, seems like an afterthought. The Riv has way better proportions!
I called Buick and told them that if they built those I would buy one. RWD with an LS would have been awesome.
Just personal taste and not blind buick loyalty -- I would totally take the riv. Or any number of other detroit classics.
Top on or off Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet Electric is one of the most beautiful concepts ever. The Cadillac Ciel was also a striking modern concept and the Buick Avista and Avenir both caused a lot of buzz and got a lot of accolades as well.
I have to agree with a few of the above comments, it has nothing to do with the brand/badge, I much prefer the Buick concept WS6 posted personally. The Mayback 6 is definitely radical (as most concepts are), but I don't care for the proportions. Looks a bit too "cartoony" for me. The loooong hood and tiny passenger compartment is too over the top IMHO. And though practicality is never a focal point in concepts, that thing would be a b**** to park I would think with such a long sloped nose and short windshield/low driver position.
I agree that the Buick is absolutely beautiful, too. Here's my only problem with it: It looks like everybody else's 2 door coupes. They're all very pretty, but it's going to be like compact cars are now......you won't be able to tell what kind of car just passed you.
I agree on the looks comment. Historically cars have always been shaped similar. If Buick had any balls left, they'd offer it with a turbo LS. You'd know it was a Buick, because when it passed you, both rear tires would be going up in smoke. Just tune it for 455 horsepower, so Corvette isn't crying themselves to sleep every night.
Me too. I've been fortunate enough to see 2 in the flesh at shows. Stunning. The OP car is amazing! I love all the crap under the hood and the way it opens. Awesome!
