Hi all, I restored my console using the best parts from 2 and would like to offer up any remaining parts if someone needs them. As space is critical in my garage, I will hang on to them for a couple weeks. Parts are for the console pictured. fits '67-68 Wildcat (maybe others) Parts are in Montreal Canada. Still desperately need the shifter linkages for that console!!!!!!!!!
I cannot remember his avatar name for the life of me (some reason I “think” he was military but not 100% sure) that had the black shifter topper lost in a move and was very distressed about it. When I have time today I will see if I can find him and get y’all together. That’s a very nice thing you are doing : )
Yep SFC in United States Army (retired). Not sure if he ever found the shifter plate or knob he needed but maybe this will workout. I will pm him this thread: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/shifter-insert-and-shift-knob-for-67-console.332751/
I have PM’d “Skymangs” a link here. Hope he can finally get the part he needed and you can reclaim your garage space (boy can I relate!lol!) Regards, Fritzenshiftin
The parts console is apart in pieces. It isn't complete, but I'll round it up and take a pic and you can take what you need for the cost of mailing
Here's what's left. Everything except the shift selector insert. I bought it that way with the bucket seat cores thinking it was better than nothing. I do have the shifter knob, light lenses, harness and driver quality Buick logo. Hinges are busted on the rear hatch. Fixable, I fixed my other one.
the shift knob would be wonderful , I see that the shifter insert is gone already . Christopher Klapp 110 Wooster st Algona, IA 50511. shipping to 50511 and and your paypal address, sir
The rest is a collection of less than perfect console bits. The shifter insert is missing and there is a crack in the plastic near where the tach would go. Ronnie, you're as far south as I am North so I don't think it would be cost effective to ship it from Montreal Canada to California as it's not in good enough shape.
The knob is on it's way as of today. Packing and mailing came to less than $10.00 bucks, So don't worry about PayPal. Consider it a gift.
Ronnie, I weighed the console and it came to 256 pounds. The good news is that 240 pounds is me! the bad news is I'm probably going to have a stroke or heart attack and my wife will sell my Wildcat to one of you. The good news is the console is 16 pounds and at over 4 feet long/1 foot wide and 1.3 feet high The bad news is it will cost more to send than the sum of broken parts are worth. Trust me that it's not in good enough shape to send and the only reason I listed it here was to help anyone out that needed PARTS from it.
In the US, everything is free; - here in Canada and dealing with Canada Post, they feel we have an obligation to ensure their livelihoods. Anything oversize costs a small fortune to the point of making courier companies look competitive.
I thought the $110 was ridiculous Being it was more than the cost of what I sold it for and when I bought it ten years ago it was about $40 shipping
