Hey guys how's it going.. Picked up this 61 electra aka pappa smurf on 9-15-19. He's a little rough around the edges but i knew i just had to drag him home the second i seen his bad ass patina.. I don't plan on doing much if any exterior body work this will be more of a patina type build.. The floor pans will need some patch work here and there. Unfortunately the nail head was long gone and the previous owner already had an ls in it, so i plan to drop in a small cam 5.3 i have on my stand
thanks. I can understand and appreciate your view on the ls, and i would have never pulled the nailhead in favor of an ls, but seeing as the previous owner did, and i already have a good running ls on the stand ready to go it's going in lol
I got started today patching a hole the p/o hacked in the inner fender for a "cold air intake" now metal work isn't exactly my strong suit, and im using a harbor freight flux core welder that likes to keep burning through so i really gotta build it up, but it will do for a driver quality patina build
Yessir that's the goal.. How's Montana this time of year? Im a die hard white tail hunter from Michigan, always wanted to go on a hunt out your way.
Bow season just started last week, this time of year here is crazy weather-wise. Was almost 90 degrees and sunny the last two days, the rest of this week is forcasted mid 60s and rain. Never know what you're going to get until January, then you're guaranteed cold and snow.
welcome aboard, those 61s are kinda butt ugly but its a Buick ( Kidding) Will be a driver that turns heads every where u drive it
Lmao i can see where one could say they're ugly. Im hoping it turns a few heads when he's running. I plan to drive it daily in the summer
Best cars are the ones you drive often Just joking on the ugly I’m a 61 fan a one year only styling that had such great lines
