I believe the silence answers your question . We already have a aftermarket block, what’s needed is a Out of the box cylinder head that will feed it.

At least you guys are going about it the right way. In the Oldsmobile crowd, everyone cried of a game-changing cylinder head, but the factory blocks were already failing with what was out there. They FINALLY have a block. Build away.

Any update on this block? Is it the block that is referenced in the other thread about going to the casting phase by EOY?

Whats the date that customers can take possession of these blocks?

Hard to say because we have to test it first. Heads could be 10-12 weeks and I doubt if blocks would be any sooner. we have to finish negotiations first. We will keep you all informed.

The foundry has all the files for head and block. When they give me a date I’ll post it right away.

Good to hear! Looking forward to following this project once you have the prototype block back for testing. I hope you keep us involved. What is your target price for a bare stock dimensions block? Obviously I'm sure we are all hoping that it will fit nicely below the Aluminum block from TA and likely above a stock block fully machined with all upgrades.

When you get ready to test I'd be glad to be a guinea pig to test a strong iron block. Maybe something like twin turbos and oh, I don't know...maybe 1500-1800 HP!
    :D:D:D

How awesome would that be in an iron block that
    doesn't
    need a bra or a girdle or a jock-strap!!!

we are making them with center 3, 4 bolt mains for stock oil pans and an option for all, 4 bolt mains with a custom oil pan.

Pretty much my dream right there.
    Can your Regal handle that?

Short_Crank that's the kind of setup you're happy to build the car up to.
Chassis-wise it's close but would probably have to dump a bunch of money on electronics, plumbing, Trans brake, and brakes. Definitely want to upgrade to 4 wheel discs and maybe some dual calipers on the rear!

    Sure is fun to dream!:D:D:D

Already have a chute! Although I've never used it....
Actually, the previous owner said he never used it either...
He said they used to joke: "If you ever see the chute behind this car, I must really be in trouble!!" :D:D:D

I was just thinking that 1,500 to 1,800 HP would put you over 150 MPH in the QM where you're supposed to use the chute. Or do you do that 1/8 mile half race thing?

Derek, 90% of the races I run are 1/4 mile. I know 1/8 can be easier on your equipment but I just never think with an 1/8 mile mind.
Seems like more races are heading to 1/8 mile too.

A local guy, who has owned the same local strip on several occasions, told me that track insurance is substantially cheaper when it is limited to 1/8 mile races.

I race both and prefer 1/4 mile but I will say this. I find it ten times easier to judge the finish line on a 1/4 mile race compared to an 1/8 mile. It happens so much faster.
