Hi all, I am having trouble getting the temperature control wire (blue) to travel all the way up to the 'cold' position. I am using the Old Air cables. I have never seen this control in working condition, so I only have the service manual to go by. Should the temperature lever travel over the complete range of the controller slot, or can it function properly even though it looks like it isn't all the way on 'cold' according to the labeling on the controller? I have tried tightening and loosening the barrel nut many times. Please see my pictures. Maybe I have installed something wrong? Thanks. I can take more pictures if it would be helpful.
I just did this on the 66 Cat and had to live with the same problem. On my control the temp will not go full hot on the slide lever but the damper door closes fully so it does function correctly. NO matter how I adjusted it I ended up with the same result.
I have a GOOD original cable from a '66 Wildcat I'm parting out. Still looking for something CORRECT Briz??? Tom T.
Na, Thanks for the offer. It works and thats good enough. The cables on the replacements and the factory had plastic mounting tabs molded into the sheath so theres really no re positioning where the cable goes. My next adventure on this car will be rear wheel / axle bearings. They sound really bad.
