That's a strange code! What does it say on your body plate under the hood? Burnished bronze should apparently be code 77. A-2568F: is that a BASF paint nomenclature? Seems consistent with their numbering.
Yes, sorry 77 body code and A-2568F is the paint chip code, I just happened to have the paint chip sheet next to me lol!
Hey everbody, New video available which shows me replacing the wiper blades. Simple job but hopefully some useful info for somebody:
gnatsum, This is a FYI. There is absolutely no reason to bend that tab up with a screwdriver as shown. When you bend it up with the screwdriver it lessens the tension of the tab & when the wipers are running on fast speed, like in a heavy rain, the wiper will have a tendency to come off. The way is to just put thumb pressure with your thumb & push down on the tab. I've been doing this for 60 years & have run into people putting on their own wipers on with the results being a scratched windshield. Tom T.
Thanks very much for the info Tom. I figured that was the case but as I was fitting new wipers, I was not fussed about releasing the tension. I perhaps should have made it clearer in the video to ensure the tabs are bent back down to reinstate the tension, if you plan to refit them. Thanks again for the information, it's the sort of simple thing that could really ruin your day!
Thanks so much! It's a shame that the lower part is broken, it is so fragile. I am even more annoyed that I somehow managed to loose the pieces, so I cannot even glue them back on. I am going to try and get some bits 3D printed at some point.
good deal mate . im not a fan of side terminals because the threads can get chewed out easy and they don't seem as a good connection as top posts . also its really hard to connect jumper cables to side terminals . I replaced my bolts with longer ones so they stick out quite a bit as to clamp jumper cables on if needed
I agree mate, I think the posts are better. I guess that's why all modern cars have them now - the superior design. Good point about the jump cables, I have a portable jump start but had not even thought about that!
