George Newadovich was nice enough to show me how to do this years ago in person. Today I made a video to show others how to take apart your seat belts. Hope this helps other members here. https://youtu.be/kBpjqUIVn-U
Jason I only know of stickers. Best thing to do is find someone with some good used ones from beat up seatbelts that they are not going to use.
BEWARE. the one shown in the above vide are the very EZ ones to open... The SS deluxe one Will bite you.. Please Use Heavy welding type gloves that screw driver will slip and BITE Other than that carry on...
The parts in the pic below are the 2 parts that need to be replaced if your seat belt does not adjust (slide) on the nylon strap very ez I found most everting at inline tube..
Bob your right. Guys have to be very carful to not stab themselves !!! I have cut my hands up and stuck myself one time in the gut. Thankfully I was not hurt badly but I am very careful now so I dont do that ever again.
Good info Bob. I never thought about looking at inline tube for the internal parts. I find most of the time I can clean the parts and get them working without to much effort. Good info to have.
99% agree will you But that Chrome wedge you lose the chrome (rust) the belt is pretty much backseat no passengers.
Helpful video. My buckles seem to be built to a tighter tolerance, not really any gap to receive a screwdriver.
I think inline makes replacement buttons. I have never had one that I could not get a screwdriver in. Sometimes you have to start with a really thin one as Ryan said. Yes, watch your hands as it does not feel good when the screwdriver slips. Good post Ryan
Yeah I just did mine.. this post helped. small jewelers screwdriver slid in to push enough over to get a larger screwdriver in..
Old thread but still relevant. Hey Ryan great video, very helpful but there's one thing missing. How do you remove the belt itself from the cam bar/adjustment bar inside the buckle housing? I'm trying to disassemble the belts from the buckle assemblies so I can wash and dye them.
Guess I need to do a part two. It took me a LONG time to figure out how to do it and I can post a video of exactly how to do it in a few days. You have to push the metal inside forward so you then pull one part of the belt out then twist the belt holder so you can take the belt out.
I did figure out how to move the metal clasp mechanism forward, then slid the barback abit yo pull the belt out of the one side. I just couldn't figure out how to get the belt and bar out of the housing? I'd appreciate a second video when you got a chance.
I figured out how to do it Ryan but by all means make a video if you still want to, I'm sure it would still help others out. Cheers!
