I have a '72 GS 455 Sun Coupe (yes, it's real) that I had painted Stratomist Blue, with original paint code 20 (Crystal blue I believe). I've owned the car since 1984, but with my current race car project I am working on I have considered selling it. Would probably be pretty pricey as well.....
I also do have an appraisal from 2006 that Richard Lasseter did, and it states the rarity of the vehicle as one of less than 20 known to exist.
Do you happen to know if the SCO-909 or any other numbers/letters on the cowl plate are any type of reference to the Sun Coupe, and if so, what its representation is by chance? I don't seem to have real great luck researching things out....
Good question, I don't know since the spoiler was on the car when I bought it back in '84. My guess would be no.
Thank you. I think I misspoke, my car color code is for Crystal Blue, which is code 21, and which was the color of the car when I bought it.
In 72 you could order a rear spoiler by itself. I also noticed your car has lights instead of gauges but has a factory located tach. That’s an interesting combo too.
Not mine and not a 1972, is a 1971 close enough? pricey....in NC $49,500 https://www.carolinamusclecarsinc.com/vehicles/421/1971-buick-gran-sport-gs-455
