I have a 10 bolt 8.5 with bolt in axles. I believe. 41-15 tooth count on ring and pinion. This is under the 65 GS I am parting out. Non Posi. Curious if it’s worth anything??

Well thats great news. But I already have a 9" under my skylark that im building up. I will probably wind up selling this sometime in the future.

  4. A complete 8.5 rear like that goes for a couple hundred bucks around here

FYI that’s a 2.73 gear. Great highway gear behind the nailhead.

As soon as I get the body off of this (im parting it out) I can look for some number codes stamped on the tubes.

  8. if it bolted directly in a 65 it can only be a 71 or 72.

If it's not I can sure erase and strike any digit on there to make it a 71. hahahah Or it could be a late/Early model rear.

Pretty sure the 3 letter codes for gear ratio and Posi are the same for 71 and 72. That would just leave a date code. Do you have a non stock rear Manny?

Yes, 8.5 10 bolt with bolt in axles, 28 spline axles. The 71-2 Cutlass rear, same as the Skylark/GS.
