8.5 with bolt in axles.

I have a 10 bolt 8.5 with bolt in axles. I believe. 41-15 tooth count on ring and pinion. This is under the 65 GS I am parting out. Non Posi. Curious if it’s worth anything??

 

Yes,that rearend core is worth keeping. One of the best rears ever made.

 

Well thats great news. But I already have a 9" under my skylark that im building up. I will probably wind up selling this sometime in the future.

 

A complete 8.5 rear like that goes for a couple hundred bucks around here

 

FYI that’s a 2.73 gear. Great highway gear behind the nailhead.

 

any way of finding out what year 8.5 rear?

 

As soon as I get the body off of this (im parting it out) I can look for some number codes stamped on the tubes.

 

if it bolted directly in a 65 it can only be a 71 or 72.

If it's not I can sure erase and strike any digit on there to make it a 71. hahahah Or it could be a late/Early model rear.

Yes Larry, Its a non- stock rear 8.2. 3.23. I'm looking for period correct rear.

 

And i have an Old '72 rear picked up from a member here some time ago. Stupid right.

 

I just picked up 71 olds 10 bolt. All the internal stuff including axles are the same on 71,72 Buick Olds?
