So this happened last weekend. The wife and I rented a car, left Bremerton Washington at 3am Saturday, drove to Missoula Montana ,bought this virgin 66 Buick special wagon, hung out with the owner for a bit, dropped the rental off at the Missoula airport, loaded the wagon up, checked everything out to make sure she’s ready for the trip home, stopped at the Missoula Buick dealer to get some pics (it’s now a goodfoods), and drove her 627 miles back home. We were back by Sunday morning. The Buick didn’t hiccup at all. One hell of a weekend in a untouched 54 year old Buick. Now she’s home safe sitting next to our other 66’s. It the wifeys new cruiser

Very nice find & such a fun/memorable way to do it. Bought my old '69 SW 400 that way. Flew to AZ from MD & drove it back.

Awesome. I love a 66. Great to hear it ran like a Buick all the way home. :)

Great story and great car. I'm pretty sure my parents had the same luggage!

First picture is looking towards Tacoma Narrows (site of Galloping Gertie and the 1940 collapse). The replacement and it's newer twin are in the background.
