Please post a picture looking down the distributor hole with it removed. Please. Take your time for a good photo with a flashlight shinning down the hole. We want to see the gear shown in the hand in Larry's photo.

Another angle. Like I said before there’s not much you can see.

Yea if it’s supposed to be right there with the shaft or next to it, I don’t see one. I tried to see if i could feel it and I can’t feel anything like a gear with teeth then again I can reach super far in there with 1 finger.

I mean, look at my picture, I don't even see the fuel pump eccentric. They are both forward of the timing chain, which I can see (cam sprocket) Take the fuel pump off. That will let some light in there.

Who is the rebuilder of the engine?

Powertrain Products Inc. rebuilds all kinds of engines including Buick 350's. Here are 2 pictures from their site,

See the relative position of the gear and eccentric?

Agreed that gear should be obvious looking down the hole. Time to call the builder because that ain't right.

I just checked and took the fuel pump off. Only a shaft from what I see. I was looking for the gear and these are the pics from angles.

Who put the timing cover on? Who rebuilt the engine?

I had a mechanic doing it but he half assed the job and put the alternator and timing cover on with the water pump and balancer. Local mechanic. I can tell he didn’t know much about Buick’s. I was educating him more than he knew. Smh.

I pretty much did the remainder myself. I had to let him free of his duties because he didn’t seem to help with his sub par services other than the swap.

Yea. I figured once I didn’t see it in there it all has to
Come off. Do you install it a particular way via particular tools or does it just sit into the camshafts easily similar to the diagram pic?

Also does anyone know if TA does Express shipping?
