What do u guys have & still use? I have a Marantz 2270 stereo receiver (1975 purchased new - but now needs repairs), a Radio Shack record player (16 2/3, 33 1/3, 45, 78 rpm), Radio Shack dual cassette recorder/player (being replaced with a Marantz), Sony 5 disc player (1990). Had a Sony 8track player/recorder (failed) & a Radio Shack 8trck player (dead).. Looking for a good 8track player to attach to the receiver. I just garbaged a Panasonic portable 8track player. I have a Pioneer VSX-4625 that is replacing the 2270 for until it is repaired (have to wait until the border opens). I have a pair of new Bose speakers (wow) and a pair of Radio Shack speakers (1990 vintage). I have lots of records, 8track tape, cassette tapes & cds.
Lets see fisher X-202-B. plus a couple (2)of fisher KX-200. Dynaco St-70... List is just way to big for the speakers Ive got them stored all of the place brothers sisters friends .
I use a Marantz 4270 from the early 70's in my living room and a Pioneer SX 450 from 1979 in my family room. Both work great. About every 10 years or so, I have to clean all of the switches and dials but other than that, they still work great. I also have 4 Pioneer HP 40 speakers. I gave my Utah speakers away 20 years ago. I wish that In still had those.
Technics Class A Amp SU-V98 Technics Class A Tuner STG-450 Technics Equalizer SH 8066 Technics Double Cassette Deck RS-TR155 Technics Turntable SL-QL1 (2) Cerwin Vega D-9 speakers Shakes pictures off the walls in the back of the house. Volume knob is a bit scratchy, could probably use some contact cleaner.
I have a Denon AVR-3600 receiver I bought in the late nineties. It has a Dolby Digital Home Theater section. I have that coupled to a 6 piece Atlantic Technology 250.1 speaker system with left, right, center, surround speakers, and a 150 watt subwoofer. I can shake the entire apartment with it.
I assembled a Dynaco amp years ago, it came as a kit (I think all did) it was 30 watts a channel IIRC, I don't recall the model number, you have a pic of yours? I watch Vintage Audio on You Tube quite a bit, pretty cool stuff I think my Dynaco was the SCA80Q
Hi Mark my ST-70 is stashed in storage.. I'll dig it out in the near future for pics . I did not build mine, Its a modded unit runs stock just looks different... Back in the they available as both kit and factory built both put out 35WPC. Cool you had Dynaco SCA80Q PreAmp. Those are kinda rare. they do pop up on ebay Q - quad stereo 4 channel. ..https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Dy...978412&hash=item1ceff20587:g:EAAAAOSwbJtfKNOx
Great thread Idea!! Besides vintage cars, vintage audio is another hobby I dabble in. Current stable includes; Nikko Alpha II & Alpha 220 amps, Beta II and III pre-amps, Gamma I tuners (I have one of the Nikko setups in my garage with B&W DM-330 speakers( the neighbors just love me when I crank it up!) Pioneer SX-1050 receiver Dynaco Stereo 400 amp...200+ watts per channel baby cakes! (reference to a hi-fi commercial from the 80's) Phillips GA-212 & AF-977 turntables Speakers; KEF 104/2, DCM TF600, Cerwin Vega D-7 ( Great match for the Dynaco amp!!) Plus a few other bookshelf type speakers that I rotate in.
Here's my Magnavox. I had it completely restored and it plays as you would expect. The wife can't wait for me to move it to the Man Cave once I have a Man Cave.
I have a GE similar to that, it dates from the early ‘60s and it has Civil Defense logos on the tuner. It’s in storage now; been banished from living quarters for years. Patrick
Dunno how vintage my Pioneer stuff is, but it's running a 70s set of my Dad's old Advents. And the house I'm in has this A/M turntable combo built into it in the basement/game room with speakers hidden in the walls throughout the house. Also one on the patio so when it's on no matter where you are you've got it. House is from the 40s, I figure the people who put it in must've been big neighborhood entertainers. There is a good thread on old home stereos somewhere on the forum from about a year ago or so, but good to revisit the topic And sorry about everything being dusty..... View attachment 485931
I have too much myself. I know I have at least two reel to reels. Few tuners. Slide projectors etc. I am an ex car stereo installer from the mid eighties. I still have a Kenwood that was their first multi changer first remote head unit. I have a Kenwood amp even older. Din input even. Both of them will end up in my 67 if my cards fall right.
By the way. I feel you Lucas. I saw this at a Goodwill dropsite when I was 19 or so. I borrowed it way back then. Had a tube that looked non burnt to me. I plugged it in... waited for the glow... boom. Shortwave radio etc. Turntable is froze but someday. That was decades and lifetimes ago. Still hanging in there. 1943 Bendix
Here is another thread about vintage home stereo equipment: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?th...over-from-another-thread.354005/#post-3024749
Oh, that thing works perfectly. Only music station I get AM is one that plays 80s country. I like old school. I don't like baseball but I put the games on sometimes when they're live because it's a cool connection to the past. I shoot pool, have a "smoke", drink beer, and listen to the radio in a basement straight out of the '60s and 70s
